The only way to stop them is to put them behind bars, help law enforcement help you.

They phoned me 9/23/11 said i could take a cruise for 7 nights for two people from Miami, FL all i had to do is give a credit card number to pay $499 but it had to be paid today.  I already received this same scam call 6 months prior so i was prepared.  I asked if he had a single friend that would like to go with me on this luxiourous 7  night cruise and pay this small fee.  I would gladly share this expensive once in a life time event all he had to do is find some sucker willing to give up their credit card over the phone ($499) and i would share my winnings with thelucky sucker.  He laughed and said no and i said too bad what a waste.  Ha ha, hope that makes some feel better that did get scamed.  Paybacks, it was hilarious!

I noticed that a number of people in this thread said the letters they got had Canadian stamps on them and some were asked to call a phone number based in Canada.  If the scamers are based in Canada then I would suggest that as well as filing a report with the US Secret Service, you should also file a report with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca  Since the scam letters are coming from Canada I think it would be useful to get Canadian law enforcement involved in trying to find and prosecute these criminals.

Well I just got my letter and I am disappointed...  my check was only for about $1950... they couldn't even make mine worthwhile ..LOL. Anyway... my spidey senses were all a tingle when I opened the letter. Nothing with this seemed right at all... while the wife was reading and re reading the letter I started to search this company... Global Market has many pages for being legit on most all major search engines... but most people don't know that you pay to get listed higher.. so I went to the later pages... 10 back or more and found this site... I am soooo glad that this one exists... Now I am sure this is a scam. I have already contacted my local PD and left a message for the local Secret Service branch to call me back. kept the letter... envelope and check. Going to contact the Bank the check is supposedly from tomorrow. Oh what fun it is to play with people who think they can get away with this stuff....

I have been doing Mystery Shopping for Global Market test for about 2 years now and I get my checks sent to me in the mail all the time but My paper never says to deposit the check first it just tells me what store I am going to and thats all I recieve emails and calls all the time from them It's infact very legit but my envelope has a return address and the stamp is from the states and my checks are from a local bank that they have here and there so I guess someone is posing as them to get you to send the money they dont have to western union!!!!!

I have done online surveys for Global Test Market off and on for a couple of years. I have received $50 checks and had no problems cashing them. I use a couple of other online survey companies because I can be rewarded faster than with Global Test Market. However, I have not written them off my list.

HOWEVER, today my son received one of the Mystery Shopper invitation and checks. He will not be cashing that check. I can't believe it is the same company as the one with the online surveys. Probably not.

My husband recieved a global test market check for 3,990 and like the others have posted he was to deposit it in his checking account and then keep 200 as income, spend 100 at Wal mart and send the rest using Western Union.  I am an accountant and have seen these scams before so I immediately got on the internet to look it up and found this web site where several people have reported what I thought would happen.  You deposit the check, spend it as you are asked and then the check is returned by the bank and withdrawen from your checking account.  Hence you paid the global test marked company 3690 ( the western union amount)  Thanks everyone for posting.

The check they send you will bounce...
In return, they will take your money.
These people should be in jail.

I got a check today from global market research for 1326 I called the number on the paper that came with it and got a guy name Steven smith I asked him what's up with this? And he said go to the bank and cash it and send him 950 bucks for processing fees lol so what I did was told him ok so I called him back a few hours later and told him I almost got arrested for fraud and told him the only reason I did not go to jail was because my dad is the sheriff lol then I told him they found finger prints on the check, he was or maybe still is freaking out hahahaha but yeah I checked out that check and called the bank it had listed on there and it is a scam big time so please stay away from them

I also received a letter from Global Test Market.  I received the check as well.  The bank is legitimate from what I can tell.  The check however I do not know about.  I am going to contact the bank and see if this is a real check or a phony.
