Not such good advice:  He can only declare bankruptcy if he has no assets other than his house.  When he declares bankruptcy, they will do an inventory and he will be required to sell assets.  If he has a car that is worth $10,000 and he only owes say, $5000 on it, he could be forced to sell the car to pay for what he owes.  Bankruptcy is not the answer for such a small amount.  Do the payments.  Most people can afford the income tax on an additional $2400.  Bankruptcy is a big deal. Don't take it lightly.

I'm not sure how pasting promo content from WWR and then following with a rudely defiant remark counts as "defending" that company or indicating a fellow reader's career.

they make a living breaking the laws themselves, because they only get into trouble when someone does the right thing and hauls them into court. And many many many people have. Yes, they are criminals. Criminals can sleep at night because they get off on hurting people and living for the thrill of the hurt. So what do you do with criminals? well, in this case, you just file suit yourself, and get a big chunk of change.

Set up a account in Switserland, so no account in the USA, so they can try to collect until cows fly! Low class trash attorneys, everytime they call, I laugh...keep on going! They can't garnish, no way shape or form!!!!:)

    Big Brother
People who owe debts are so ignorant and defensive.  When I worked at WWR and would call a debtor for the first time  I would ask for the debtor and once I verified who I was talking to and why I was calling, they would respond with a mouthful of curse words before I could even speak two words.  And they wonder why their debt is in the hands of a collection law firm.

    You mean the FDCPA?

Probably meant as written, if I may infer from the phrases "pay for each time" and "unsolicited phone call". The comment sorely lacks the necessary context that TCPA is aimed at *telemarketers* and will not typically apply to debt collector cases without the elements of a mobile phone and a narrow range of privacy breaches. Debt collector calls are nearly always "unsolicited", that being a term applied to sales calls. TCPA damage awards can stack up per violation, whereas FDCPA has one fixed statutory award and one undefined actual damage provision regardless of the violation count.

It's a pretty reckless statement, given that TCPA claims are not available to most litigants trying to defeat a collection agency. Here's more on the FDCPA:

Bob, have you made an attempt to pay this debt yet?  It's been over three years.  We are waiting.

Has WWR attempted better FDCPA compliance? Has WWR quit bundling defective affidavits with its checkbox form civil complaints? Has it refrained from bluffing and bullying people like Bob into a set of legal handcuffs?

Two months ago you told us you "worked at WWR", past tense, where you were reportedly persecuted by alleged debtors. Are you now back on the call center floor or do you telecommute as a Reputation Damage Controller?

In Bob's orgininal post, Bob was trying to make arrangements for payment for $100 per month and was turned down.  Why would he try and make arrangements for payment if he didn't owe the debt.   He owes it, he knows it, time to pay the piper.
