It happened to me too but you can't do anything about it. Just block private call i think it help......
You know the first time I tried to call back on the indian man but the number was rediculiously long. It was something like this 8768504850420. It just made no sense and when I tried to call back it was very strange it was like I could not reach the number and it would change too when he would call back. The phone number was not consitent.

In this case try contact your provider change your number and told them keep you number private. Told them do not show your number to the public...... And add your number to ( do not call list ) and block your private call dial *77 send..... Hope this work for you....
got robo call from "Private Name - Private Number" on 1-09-13 @950 AM. It was recording 'Tiffany' instead of 'Rachel' this time from Card Services trying to again lower my Credit Card interest........blah, blah, blah...... I pressed 1 and a gal finally came on the line and asked "Do U have $3000 in Credit Card debt? I answered 'Yes, I do". She then asked me a ton more questions and gave her just as many false answers. I even made her explain and clarify some of the comments she was making. Finally, on the phone with the SCAMMER for 4 &1/2 minutes I started up my "Raunchy British song" at full blast............before the song ended at the 5 minute mark that Gal SCAMMER was gone.

They may not have gotten your money....but they got you to answer....kept you on the line.....and in the end....they still have your information and can still contact you or sell your number at any time to someone else to do the same run around.
Register with the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY
The best thing to do, IF YOU ANSWER* is ask key questions such as(Ask all these questions kindly and like you are interested in pursuing the conversation further once you've "verified" them):
Who is speaking? Get their name, ext, and employee number if they have one and ask them for the number to the direct line of the business they are calling from.
What is the place of business? Get the exact name of the business and even have them spell it out.
Do you have a business code or ID that can be verified that I'm talking with the correct person? They will often say no, but try to get it if possible.
Where is this place of business? Get a location so you can pin point who they are even further.
Once you have all or most of these questions answered.....is when you can lay into them. Tell them they are in violation of the National Do not Call Registry laws and you will be reporting them, and also reporting them to the BBB.
I [***] hate telemarketers or debt collectors who call me from "unknown" or "blocked" numbers and even dont leave a message. How do you expect me to pay a bill or give any personal information over the phone to somebody who called me using unknown or blocked? Oh thats right...they are looking for stupid people. If you dont have the balls to call me from a REAL NUMBER then consider yourself ignored you [***]!
OH AND ANOTHER THING.....when you try to call back or if you answer....alot of the time it could be a line that CHARGES YOU for the call!

Answering these frauds is a stupid thing to do in the first place. Unless you want to play around with them, answering them will give them the advantage. Other than that the only thing they are capable of is ringing with spoofed numbers.

This has been happening to me too, and I'm pretty scared. Beginning a day or two ago, I've been getting calls on my cel phone from a private number about once to twice per hour for several hours, going until late hours of the night. I pick up the phone and say hello, I can hear that there's a person on the other side (not a machine), and they hang up. A telemarketer wouldn't call at midnight, would they?
I'm relatively new in the area where I live and have only had my cel phone for about a year. I don't know many people in this area or have many friends here who might prank me, also I'm not of an age where people usually prank call. To me it hasn't been annoying so much as scary. There were a few times I hadn't picked up the phone simply because I didn't hear it ring or wasn't near it, but they kept calling. I feel like I'm being stalked or something. I feel like changing my number or blocking them wouldn't help, because what worries me is *why* someone would do this and is someone trying to stalk me?
You should change your number then. If you feel like someone is stalking you, report all the numbers to the police.

Just got one from a gentleman named 'Leo Smith' advising me that someone was trying to access my computer and he was going to walk me through how to stop it. He got very upset when I said that it was very unlikely. I didn't catch the name of the 'company' he was calling from as he had a very thick Indian accecnt. I hung up on him. I hope nobody falls for these scams.

1) THERE WAS ZERO CHANCE THEY WERE GOING TO GET ANY MONEY FROM ME. 2) IT DOESNT MATTER IF I ANSWERED OR NOT THE SCAMMERS CALL ANY NUMBER THAT IS NOT DISCONNECTED WHETHER THE PERSON ANSWERS OR NOT. THE ONLY NUMBERS THEIR COMPUTER DOESNT CALL IS POLICE AND GOVERNMENT / STATE NUMBERS THAT THEY SCRUB FROM THEIR ROBO-CALL SYSTEMS 3) THE REVERSE IS TRUE = I WASTED THEIR TIME AND KEPT THAT SCAMMER FROM CONTACTING A VULNERABLE PERSON. I KEPT THEM ON THE LINE FOR MANY MINUTES UNTIL I DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A LITTLE TASTE OF THEIR OWN MEDICINE WITH A GREAT RAUNCHY BRITISH SONG. 4) THEY DONT HAVE ANY INFORMATION EXCEPT THE FAKE INFORMATION I GAVE THEM. UNFORTUNATELY THEY CAN SELL ANYONES PHONE NUMBER TO ANOTHER SCAMMER NO MATTER IF U ANSWER YOUR PHONE OR NOT.
