Others we see far too often on 800 notes- "Your social security number has been put on hold". And how exactly is that done? Or another favorite, "There is a restraining order against you" Well, then why are you calling me? Seems if there was a restraining order against me you'd be trying to get away from me, not call me. Love how these third world criminals throw out a few legal (and out of context) phrases from old episodes of "Law and Order". Probably play late night on Sky TV in Asia.

I'll wager a lot of those "Your social security number has been put on hold" threats come from overseas scammers who don't really know what a Social Security number is.

This company is misrepresenting themselves as a attorney office. They are NOT ATTORNEY OFFICE, they say there making a recommendation for wage garnishment, which they do not do FDCPA violation, and say your jeapodizing your license. This is misleading, this company has no grounds or intentions on pursing any type of LEGAL matters, but are qucik to say pending legal matter-MISLEADING. Record there call or make sure another party can hear the call (witness) and everytime they mention wage garnisment, your license, or and pending LEGAL call attorney easy lawsuit. Report it to BBB. Sean Williams the son is running this office, his dad is the owner. This company Willam rush and associates does not deserve to be in business, make your complaints !!!

It's 'states' and 'failure'. Also, 'Miranda' is capitalized. *smh*

The commentor was trying to say "out of stat", slang for a debt account which has aged past an applicable Statute of Limitations.

Ah...still-I am suspicious of the guy-the site has a thing to let you know you've made a spelling error...

To sue them you have to find them.  Many of these scammers are located in foreign countries, out of reach of US law enforcement and the US court system.  In their countries scamming dumb Americans is not a crime.  The cannot be sued.

This company has been calling me to tell me aarons sales and lease were going to file theft charges against m after a yr and a half. I told aarons to.comeget their merchandise that i di not want it anymore since they kept changing my payments to higher onesso i moved and left the furniture at my house bc i had no way to haul it and i did not wanna be fooled anymore with the payments anymore. Aarons put the furniture on my credit and 8 months later these ppl are telling me i better pay 2700 by next week or im gonna be charged with theft.Aatons would say, youre such a loyal customerwe dont want to lose you, we will give u time to think about keeping it, nvr would come get it. i even called corporate and told them they wouldnt come get it. Corporate never got back in touch with me so i moved. What can be done about this?

I was told a certified copy saying return the merchandise had to be sent out and i would have five days to do so.....never received anything like hat, but i guess i wouldnt considering they didnt wanna come when i asked them too. The girl that worked at aatons would always say, ur payment has gone up for some reason, but  gonna put notes in the system for this and that.....and blah blah....im a lil scared bc these ppl are tellin me i better pay and that i cant make a payment arrangement on a loan settlement...

I took the advice in this thread sent letters asking for validation and received a copy of the contract. Theft charges have been filed for the tv and computer I got from Aaron's. What should I do now? Why can't I just give them back?

What are you talking about? I think you're making this story up but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now. You haven't participated in this thread so far (unless it was under a different name) and what you stated here makes no sense.
