    I'm sure you can't.

    Payback
The scammer on the otherside must've used the stolen money to buy himself a new laptop or a computer to spread his scam elsewhere. Don't send them a dime no matter how legit they sound.

Ladies please know that anyone telling you that they love you sight unseen as much as we wish it true is usually not. I have a friend who met the supposed love of her life online. After many months of free e cards and magic jack phone calls, this person offered to meet her in San Francisco, he sent a ticket and booked a hotel. Very excited my friend hopped on a flight and went to meet her internet Romeo. When she arrived at the hotel to check in she received a message that he had been called away for business and would not be able to meet. She also found that the reservation payment had been declined so she paid for the room with a promise of repayment for the mistake from Romeo. The following day when attempting to return home she was stopped at the airport and arrested for credit card fraud as the airline ticket and hotel had been charged on a stolen credit card. After 3 days of police interrogation she was released and confirmed a Victim of Nigerian dating scam. It cost her 4k. Shortly after she received a call at home explaining that internet Romeo had been in a major car accident in Malaysia and had indicated her as next of kin and the surgeon on the phone was requesting 5k in order to save the life of her Romeo who needed surgery immediately. The caller asked that the funds be sent Western Union to the Dr. As I have work contacts in the country I reached out to try and locate this guy who it turned out never existed and there was no such Dr. at the hospital they gave name to. Everyone wants to be loved but PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY OR LIFE SAVINGS TO A VOICE ON THE PHONE.

Tragic, but a great educational story.  I will be using your post to help "wise up" others.  Thanks.

Yea, it also goes for the so called 'Juliets' too! Both ways with these Nigerian scammers ... either a stranger fraudulantly proclaiming love or  so called unknown woman out of the blue doing the same thing.

It's usually always a male scammer sending this load of bull (there was a segment of Dateline NBC that covered this particular scam).

It's a variation of the Nigerian dating scam!!!

Perhaps, Tim, but there were many victims who were anything but stupid... the scammers are upping their game and getting craftier.

I was also in the scam victim,i have sent $42,000 to someone in Nigeria to complete his project so that he can get back to the state, but i later find out that it was a scam, but i am so much happy and greatful to the Nigera government and the EFCC of Nigeria they help me in getting back my money 5days ago,so if you have a friend that was in this you can tell him or her to contact the EFCC via there email address [removed]@yahoo.com or you can log on to efccnigeria.org for more information about them and they will help you in getting back your money,DONT SEND MONEY TO INTERNET LOVER IN NIGERIA ITS SCAM.

Ummmmm ... are you sure that's the email for the EFCC? ending in @yahoo.com  a free web based email address/account?

The same as all the notorious 419/Nigerian email scammers use?

    http://www.efccnigeria.org/operations.html

"Emails messages not emanating from our domain (i.e., bearing@efccnigeria.org) should be verified."

You have "efccnig1960@yahoo.com", NOT A MATCH!!!

Luke any business or government branch with their own website ... they always use their OWN domain's email NOT some free web based email account! There has also been reports of fake email supposedly coming from the EFCC that have used other free web based email accounts (msn.com, live.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com and even yahoo.com) like those the scammers use!

I'd like to hope that your story is true and that you actually recovered all your money ... but I see some major discrepancies that cast a shadow of doubt over how valid it might be!!!

And of course the Nigerian scammers use their favorite email service, Yahoo!  That is why they're called "Yahoozees"!

Yep, and apparently they're fraudulently claiming to be the EFCC! Laughable!
The Yahoo wmail addy that was posted sounded alarms right away. Only rhe Nigerian email scammers (as well as ither scammers) use it!!! But obviously not a legit business, organization or Government agency!!!

"Yahoozees" really do fir these lazy, scamming theives! LOL
