I sometimes get 3 or 4 calls a day with my final notice to lower my credit card rates.  I give them fake information in trying to get information about who they are.  Yesterday I got a call from a spoofed number 501-669-5219.  I had the man on the phone for over 20 minutes in trying to give me a lower interest.  The phone call is a long story. He or his supervisor finally hung up on me.  He called me back about two minutes later from 888-976-6694.  This is a real number.  He finally hung up on me after being on the phone for 6 minutes.  I called the number back 10 minutes later claiming that I had missed a call from them and wondered who it was that called me.   They told me LIR Group.  I asked them where they were located, and they told me all over but the office I called was in Phoenix, AZ.  I asked the lady I was talking to what LIR stood for and she said Lower Interest Rate.
Today, I googled LIR Group and found them on the BBB.org site located in Tempe, AZ.  I called the toll free number 800-983-4322 and talked to them about how they had called me yesterday about lowering my card rate and they tried helping me out. I had this phone call on for 20 minutes again they were trying to help me with my fake card.
Here is the information for this company on the BBB.org site

This site was designed on simplicity.  Look up a number and post it there.   Now I just did your job and posted the information on all three phone numbers so that anyone who is looking can easily find it.
So perhaps you could tell me why we need a new forum thread that will sink into obscurity and no one will ever see it again?

Here is the reason I posted it here.
    1. This company uses many spoofed numbers, so the original number they contacted me with is just one of many so most would miss seeing this.
    2. The FTC has had a hard time tracking these companies down because of the spoofed numbers, and I have tried to get info from them that call about the company they work for.  I have been told that I would only get that information after I am qualified, or I have been told that their website is cardservices or bankcardservices or even had one tell me that it was bbb.org.  I ask them for a phone number for the company and they have all refused to give me one.  After recieving hundreds calls each of the past few years, I finally got one company to slip up and thus I was able to point out who they are.  They have been reported to the FTC.
    3.  The two toll free numbers  are numbers one most likely will not get a call from.  The one I did get a call from was when he called me back and with a call back to him I found out their name...with a little prodding. The other toll free number is when I googled the company name and found out that on the bbb.org site, their Tempe office showed up.  I called that toll free number to see if it was the same company, and it is.
I am just putting this information out there  for those of us who get these calls several times a day, being harrassed over and over by what is supposed to be their 'second and final notice', being lied to on the phone as to who they are,  being called over and over again when asked to remove me from their calling list, and being called all kinds of names.  I guess this I some justice for them.  It is time to turn the table on them.

I the time it took me to read your post, this thread went from #1 to #2.  Soon to be off the page again.  On the other hand, the information I posted in each of those number threads is still right there at the top of two of the threads. But we can do it your way, and see what happens.  We shall see if anyone comes here and posts  to keep this thread active on a regular basis.

    Hang in there BigA.

I have to wonder how many forum threads there are buried in obscurity.  The threads like the 909 one with dozens upon dozens upon dozens of the same number posted over and over again with nothing "add this one to the list".  Then we have the fact that these threads seem to be a troll magnet.
I've said it before that these forum threads should be eliminated completely.  it was pointed out that they serve a useful purpose when properly used.  the problem is that they have stopped being properly used and are the lazy man's way out.  Just my opinion.
But I am through here.  Let whatever happens to this thread happen.  I have other scammers to out.

I don't know. But I wonder how many of these individual threads we will see about spoof calls people are receiving that display their own number. Its a bit crazy seeing numerous threads under the same subject.

    Why the spoofing....
They are well aware of this Forum -- that they get busted every time they use a number. Hence the spoofing - to get around the google search. Let's keep posting the fake names, modus operandi, exact script .... whatever they use that can be googled for consumers to peg them.

The problem nowadays is that they are willing to display number that are in service and have no connection to the operation whatsoever.

    Why the spoofing....
Right. But they have overplayed their hand so much that if you are a phone owner you have been hit at least once by the scammers.... and you know their game by now. Even if you are elderly you must have younger relatives with internet who have warned you. People got scammed in the initial years but now they are more aware, the pool of victims is shrinking. Even WU and pre paid card companies are putting out scam alerts. I think this business will slowly become extinct as the market shrinks. Even now I can tell they are getting desperate.

3116 S Mill Ave,Tempe, AZ is the location of a UPS Store, so "Suite 112" is a mail drop, not an office location.

Thanks, I thought it might be an actual office  suite at that location. Here is a link to an add they posted looking for people to work for them. They only give a street address and no phone to contact them. It is in Phoenix.  http://www.simplyhired.com/job/call-center-ag ... roup/gqdkxy5fd4

    Mail drop
Sometimes even honest business people use a mail drop to protect themselves. Such as myself. For the last 48 hrs I was being held hostage by a client for ratings. That if I didnt meet his demands he would ruin my ratings. I went on "negotiating" with him via email hoping somewhere he would incriminate himself -- and he did . Being the "war veteran" and "gun owner" that he is he knew that he made a slip in writing. So I think its over ( I THINK!) he just sent me an email saying he is a honest decent nice man blah blah blah and he wants nothing from me! You know I would have an office if I had a MAN around. I did when I was married. But now I don't feel safe with so many scumbags around. I can't afford a bodyguard. Hence maildrop and a few layers of privacy works for this FEMALE business owner.
