Got a call from this number, I called back and a recording said they are a company calling on behalf of TD Canada Trust and they have an offer that they think would interest us, they say if you no longer want any calls from them just to leave your name and phone number after the beep. (I didn't think I wanted to do so, so I hung up and I'll just call TD Canada Trust to complain).

Sounds like some scam outfit using a 'spoof' number. They are probably not who they claim to be, and the telephone number they are using may not be theirs at all. There is generally no caller ID with these bogus numbers. A legitimate company would likely display one. They could be calling from anywhere. This type of calling is becoming a common practice for scammers and collection agencies. It would seem unlikely that a major company which one has never dealt with would use cold calling methods to attract potential customers.  If they can't leave a message identifying themselves, and the reason for their call, something is wrong with the picture. These types of calls are best ignored or blocked if possible.

This seems to be some telemarketing service calling on behalf of TD Canadatrust. I've already left a message with them to stop calling, and my number has been on the do not call list for years. and lastly its a cellphone. So I may report them to the CRTC for breaching the do not call agreement.

It appears to be TD Canada Trust. I am on the DO NOT CALL list for my bank for any additional services. Seems my request isn't be honoured. This has just started up after a year of no contact. Maybe there's a time limit to my request with the bank. They've been calling several times per day.

In Victoria. Just received 3rd call today within an hour and 40 minutes of each other. Finally answered and some company phoning on behalf of the TD bank, where I am a customer. Had to blast the woman for doing her job, but this is ridiculous. On my cell phone. I have worked 2 places now in Sales and I had the Sales Managers tell me to phone people until they tell you to stop. What idiots. It just creates bad will towards the company that is phoning. I am tempted to close my TD accounts.

They have called me 11 times today!!! I think that is beyond excessive and unacceptible will be closing my TD accounts immediatley

Same Walter from the 19th. Just got 2nd call of the day and answered. Told them to put me on the Do Not Call list. Heavily accented man told me it would take 31 days. !!!!!   Are you F'ing kidding me. That means I could take a " steam ship " across the ocean to India, to the call center,  and strangle the little [***] and take the same ship back and be home before my name is on their list. Maybe they need to upgrade from the Commodore 64 they are running things with.

got a call from this woman saying she is call for t.d survey...I told her I would not give bank info...Also told her lot of scammers out there ...she hung up on me...bunch of crooks...

Part of a fraud campaign targeting numerous financial institutions.  Note the pattern of shill postings all claiming the number is real - an obvious giveaway.

The large number of phony posts claiming the call is real come from some con artists spamming the site to try to fool people.  There is a similar pattern to other fake calls claiming to be from Chase, Citibank, Bank of America, US Bank, Wells Fargo, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same shill postings:

I have received a number of calls from this number. We were on holiday for a week and had 15 missed calls from this number. Have been home for 3 days now and have had a minimum of 2 calls per day. Answered last night when they called and no one was on the other end or they didn't speak if there was someone one the other end. I have now blocked the calls but one has already gotten through. This crap makes me sick!!!

I also am in Victoria. I doubt they are really with TD, as I have been called by TD before and they were not this...evasive. The conversation I previously had with TD did not go in their favour, and they have not called since. ;D

This number has called me a couple dozen times in the past few weeks, and I have answered it twice and nothing. After answering it a second time several minutes ago I phoned them back and left a message saying that; "I will not give you my name or number. And stop calling me because it is getting annoying!"

What should I do? They keep calling my cell and it is starting to interfere with my day-to-day, this caller has interrupted me far too many times...And if I get a chance to find whoever is doing it...

TD Canada trust incessantly trying to sell us life insurance after being told several times NO INTEREST.

I called the number back and left my name and number and asked to not be called again. It worked for about three months and then the calls came coming in like crazy. It used to be like three times, it turned into six to eight a day at all times. I got one at 1130pm! When I answered the calls I would just be hung up on but finally when I got someone on the line. I told them (a little white lie) that a family member had power of attorney over my accounts, they then hung up on me and I haven't heard from them in two weeks. I'm crossing my fingers this is over!

A friend keeps getting calls on this number. When she goes to pick up, she hears only silence.  My legit bank always leaves a name and call back number...I say ignore it.
