- MaryMy sister-in-law got a phone call from this number. They asked for me. I do not have any idea what her phone number is. Is this some sort of scam?
- RandyThere was a phone message from US Bank saying call back that number. I do have a US Bank account so called. When I asked if this was US Bank there was a hesitant "Uh, yeah." Then I was asked if I wanted to increase my credit limit and could I give information? I said email to the email address on the account and was told they don't have it. This is a scam. Don't give any information!
- LI got a couple missed calls from this number and they finally left an automated message with my full name inserted, saying that they were US Bank and to call them back ... I was suspicious but since they knew my name and I do have an account with them, I called back anyways. Got right to "US Bank customer service" without having to go through any automated menus. Hah, yeah right. They said I was eligible for an increased credit limit and asked for my account number "because it didn't come up". So I thanked the lady for the scam and hung up.
- L| 2 repliesNevermind! I called US Bank customer service and they confirmed this was a legitimate number! I'm surprised. Still a little wary about "it didn't come up" line when asking for my account number.
- LMI got a call with no message and then 3 hours later a call with and auto message with my name inserted saying it was US Bank with some expeciting news and to call them back. I called the customer service number in US Bank website instead and woman said she saw no records of the number in their directory nor that US Bank had made any phone calls to me today. It could be a 3rd party they contracted out with but I won't be giving them any information.
- Blah| 1 replyI called US Bank about this number and they said they do no use automated systems like this. It is a scam and the number should not be answered.
- angryTHIS IS NOT US BANK!
if this number calls you, call US Bank's fraud department and report the number. they are attempting to get it shut down.
US Bank will not call you and ask for account information. It is only ok to provide account information if YOU have called THEM. - incorrect replies to L| 1 replythis is not a legitimate number. you need to call the bank back and report this number to the fraud department. hopefully you did not provide the scammers with your account information.
- scrum replies to incorrectI confirm the original post -- just called my credit card after receiving a similar call asking me to confirm name and billing zip. The credit card rep confirmed that this is a legitimate call originated by my bank.
It is not credible that a customer service rep reached at a number on my bank's website, that had detailed transaction info from my account activity, was a part of a group that needed to scam my billing zip code from me. - scrumI agree that you should not give out info unless you are certain of the caller's identity. This credit card company is doing themselves a disservice by promoting an offer this way.
However, based on my call to my CREDIT CARD, not the ISSUING BANK, they claim it is legit.
I suspect that's why some of you are not getting confirmation when you call your bank, as it is the credit card division that wants to raise pre-approved individuals' credit limits.
My takeaway -- don't give out info, but be reassured that this was apparently a legitimate call, not a phishing scam.
Don't take my word for it though -- if you are concerned, call the number for the CREDIT CARD helpline to confirm this is legit.- Caller: USBank
- danielReceived an robo-call from this number, asking to confirm identity for a US Bank account.
Called a known valid US Bank contact number, and reported the attempted contact and was informed that my details were being forwarded to the fraud department. The CSR was not able to confirm the legitimacy of the caller.
Note to others: NEVER give out account details to someone calling you. If a real person calls, ask for the name, number, and extension. Call a known good number for the bank/company, and validate the information. If it is a robo-call (like this), just hang up, and report it to the associated bank/company.- Caller: Unknown
- BryanWHOOPS!! So I used every 4 letter word in the book when this number called me (I talked to an actual person), thinking it was fraud. I called US Bank (1-800-US-BANK) to let them know someone is trying to obtain account info saying they're from US Bank.......US Bank said it was them and that they were calling to offer me a higher credit limit on my credit card. So I felt a little ashamed for what I told the person before, but hey, banks tell you over and over again that they will never call you asking for or to verify account info. Needless to say I told US bank that I no longer want to receive phone solicitation.
- Caller: US Bank
- SHERRY replies to BlahI just received the same call from 800 Service 877-452-8560
saying it was US BANK, an automated system asking for me to verify my zip code by touch tone (ie: input my zip code to verify). I hung up & called US bank. I was told the same thing as Blah, they do not use automated systems. BEWARE! - LeeThis _IS_ a legitimate number for US Bank. A teller wanted to adjust the way my account was set up and I didn't have time. She offered to have someone call me to do it later. This was the number they called me from.
- Caller: US Bank
- kimI also received a phone call from this number and when I called it back, they said I was eligible to increase my limit on my credit card. I told them that I just wanted to keep my limit the same.
- Caller: us bank
- RobertI received a message to call this number. I called customer service for the US Bank credit card I have and they verified that they had called me to offer a credit increase and that number was one for their credit department.
- OniI am suspicious of anyone claiming that it is a legitimate number, because it is NOT a legitimate number - and the only people who'd want you to think that- are the scammers themselves. US Bank calls with live person on the line whenever they suspect you credit card has been hacked - and they identify themselves immediately. Plus it only happens when you use your credit card outside your state and haven't warned your bank you'd be traveling. And a bank shouldn't be calling you at 6am about anything - the way I received this call.
- FussiThis IS LEGITIMATE! If you don't believe someone figure it out. All you need to do is call the CREDIT CARDMEMBER SERVICES phone number on the back of your card and ask a representative. I called and first off my credit limit was already increased (after hearing the recording say the new limit) then when getting a representative, they confirmed the number is legit. PLEASE CALL YOURSELF, believing idiots on these posts doesn't assure anything.
- Fraud SquadThere is a similar pattern here as with other reported fake calls claiming to be from Citibank, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, US Bank, RBC, PayPal, etc. all with the same large number of bogus posts insisting the call is "legitimate" - likely originating from the same crime ring -

- US BankEveryone at USBank is a f u c k i n g incompetent c u n t who couldn't get a job anywhere else. Seriously, these people can't even say my name right (I won't give my name here but it's really common and easy to say). I think they intentionally hire people too stupid to read or think for themselves so that they'll just follow the routine and never actually respond to their customers' circumstances.
