I keep getting calls from this number on my house phone AND cell phone asking for me by name, and I have repeatedly and blatantly told them to stop calling me, never acknowledging that it is me, whom they are asking for I receive at least 6-8 phone calls a day. I have twice now registered my numbers on the Do Not Call Registry. How do I stop these calls? It is endless from dawn to dusk! Any solutions yet?

Thank you for the heads up about the legalities of these calls. I will make sure to inform them of that the next time they call, which should be in about 20 more minutes. Man, this makes me mad! Why even bother registering with the Do Not Call Registry if it doesn't even work?? Thanks again.

I am getting at least 6-8 and sometime 10-14 calls a day from this blocked number. I have even resorted to screaming "Do Not Call this number again!" But it doesn't work. They ask for me by name, but I do not acknowledge that it is me, I just scream that and hang up. At what point is this harassment? Legally, speaking, aside from being majorly annoying?

I have only recently received repeated calls to my long-standing cell phone number from 0000000000. I usually don't answer, but did once and it appeared to be a fax machine trying to transmit.

Multiple calls from this number.  At first, I ignored the calls but decided to answer to tell whoever it was to stop calling.  However, when I did this (and I answered twice), the first time it said something about Suddenlink (not a complete sentence) and the next time sounded like someone talking to somebody else in the background who was not on a phone.

I got a call from this number and the guy could barley speak english.  He said something about "Encrypted Download files" on my computer and I just told him that "I didn't download any damn files and that him and his buddies should never [***] call back if they know what's good for them" and then I hung up.  Don't answer because they are nothing but stupid non-americans who don't know how to speak god damn english!

I have been receiving these calls for about a month now. 7-10 times a day. They increased form 6-8 calls per day. I finally had a person on the other end, so I told them that masking their phone number was illegal and that I was going to report them to the better business bureau. I asked the guy his name, and he said "Will Smith" and then I heard a kid in the background giggling. So I told the guy on the phone to go play some hoops with his friend DJ Jazzy Jeff and I hung up. I have not received any calls since. That was yesterday.

I highly encourage people to stand up and tell them that what they are doing is illegal, it makes them pause for thought long enough to put a scare into them. I already have all of my phone numbers in the Do Not Call Registry, but we all know how effective that actually is, even with a private unlisted phone number. Good luck to all of you and I will report back should I receive more calls.

I recently activated my home phone, so no one knows about this # but me and the phone company."

That actually doesn't matter at all.  The phone number was probably in use previously.  When I activated my landline phone number, I immediately began getting calls from 4 different debt collectors looking for some deadbeat named Billy Walker at least twice a day each because it was his previous #.

Anyway, on to the "0000000000" scam - I've gotten these before...government survey questions.  Asking me if I intended to vote...pure scam.  Tell them to $!#! off and block the # if you can (some but not all mobile phones can do that)
