I'm a "below" moderate user, lol.  I followed what you were doing right up to the "mirrored the wap port" part of it.  It sounded like a GOOD plan and I was going to try it!  Oh well, hope it worked for you!

Of all the posts I've gone through on this these pages, I gotta say, your's is my favorite!  Can I borrow your cruiser some time?
Seriously thinking about figuring out how to get my phone to play that "Bad Boys, Bad Boy, Whatcha gonna do..." song for when a scammer collection agency calls telling me they have a "federal warrant out for my arrest" UNLESS I pay them $xxx TODAY, otherwise I'll be arrested in an hour (or whatever).     [yawn....eyeroll...yeah...right]

I'd love your siren next time, and tell them: Durn! They're already here.  Guess I'll see ya in court!!   LOL

Perhaps if both of you stopped answering the calls, he won't get the attention he wants, and will go away?

You've answered your own question:  "different companies that this number is associated with. "

There is NO ONE company doing this.

If you name has been on the do not call list for 31 days and you are still getting calls then file a complaint on the donotcall.gov.  site.  It is the only way they will know you are still being harrassed

Guy called, said he was from Windows (yes, as in Microsoft Windows) and detected a virus on my computer. Yeah, because they do that.  Sheesh.

Finally answered call from 000 000 0000. Was told they're doing a marine survey. Asked if this is my primary phone number and how many people in my house go fishing. Then asked how many live in my home. Refused to answer that. He said thank you and hung up.

I have been receiving calls from this number and other numbers for some years.  I finally bought a Digitone call blocker.  It is wonderful as the blocked call does not even ring.  It is no problem to block a 000-000-0000 number.  Although it is not cheap, silence is golden.  The only annoyance I have is the ID pops up on my TV screen but I delight in knowing that they cannot reach me.

Hello, I have just done some research on this number. They tell u that u have been selected to reseve  money from the federal reserve. They give u a number to call,  and a confirmation  #. Then u can get your money... THIS IS A SCAM!!! They will want u to send money to reserve money!!  #1- DON'T HAVE THEM SEND IT TO YOUR BANK!!(Many banks have insurance against these kinds of scams, and in turn u will be refunded the your money to.)
#2- Just answer and go with the questions, have them give u the numbers, and they will end the calls!!(JUST DON'T GO THROUGH WITH IT!!!  #3-  Inform as many  Americans as u can!!!!....
#4- Having this number blocked is a WASTE OF time!!!
Glad to save u TIME AND MONEY!!!..
    God bless.

This is a scam by the phone companies. To begin with, who in their right mind would do business with someone, out of the blue, calls you up and offers you a pie in the sky deal. I searched a number down and behold, it was (such & such) DBA Verizon wireless. Got Verizon on the phone and directed them to the website, Verizon adamantly denied any association with that company and sent a letter to my company denying any involvement with that company. But it's plain as the nose on your face, the phone companies generate income by selling air time and eating up yours with worthless calls. I wish the NSA would disclose who these worthless SOB's are I would personally pay them a nice little visit a shove their goddamn phone up their [***] and then down their throat. In that order. What a useless bunch of idiots we have passing laws, this is by all means harassment, but that doesn't matter. I guess I'll get a visit from DHS for threating to shove a phone up someone's ass.

I got so many telemarket calls that I could not block that I finally set my answering machine to answer after two rings. If the person calling has an important message they leave it, like my doctors office. But finally all the telemarket calls are stopping. this is the first time for this one and after they call a few times and get the same they will stop ...try it.

This is how I got them to stop calling....I answered but immediately pressed the # key on my phone for an entire minute. To THEM it sounds like a FAX MACHINE....did it 3 times and get no more calls! Just FYI
