I have received numerous calls from this "bogus" number.  I have friends at the federal level and have turned this over to them.  Received good news from my friends.....watch out.....HAHAHA!

They called my house 7 times to ask about some survey they had, even if I already told them that I didn't want to take the survey. I'm not sure if this was them, but I think they were even asking for someone in my family to take the survey.

I have gotten multiple calls from 000-000-0000.  It rings sometimes only once and then disconnects, or if I answer, it immediately disconnects.  I don't use Blockbuster and I don't have overdue bills.

Just picked up the phone by mistake, usually I don't answer those numbers. So, the guy with Asian or Arabic accent, told me that my email address sending some emails with error! Yeah, right! I asked him what's his server address, but he said they have a lot of them. Asked him which one specifically, he said something that definitely doesn't exist. Then he said that someone can access my computer, if I won't fix it, and asked if I'll help him access my computer so he can fix it. Oh, yeah, fat chance of that happening!!! I told him I'll get REAL specialist look into it. He just said "please do that" and hang up. So, simple explanation for all of us, We have to surf internet MORE CAREFULLY, that's all.

just buy a call blocker and only allow known numbers through...forward all others to answer machine...then if they are not legit you can block them from calling again anyway

I can't even protect myself from one person. Why bother fighting at all? I worse than give up. Thanks for the empowerment!

I can't even fight the petty vindictivness of one person. Why bother with appropriate chanels? Why bother with real issues? If complacency is what you meant to instill, well, you succeeded. Humanism requires altruism, not narrowminded pranks and excuses about needing to get by. I don't hate you, I think you're wrong and I don't support you.

This number has been calling me for a month and I finally answered today and this lady asked if I was their I said yes then she told me my name, address, email, and cell phone number. Then she said she was calling from an education department in California and that i qualified for free money to college. She asked to verify my info and she asked for my address. I gave her my REAL address and she past me to her supervisor and he told me if I was promised money I said no and he put the lady back on the phone. This repeated and then she called me a bad person, so I hanged up. Then I got called back and the same guy that was the supervisor answered and said if i was this weird name I can't remember he giggled I said no then he asked if I was this other weird name then he laughed louder and I said no. Then he told me that the name he said meant prostitute and if I was a prostitute. Then I told him thank you for being on the phone for over a minute, I'm forwarding this number and this recording to the police and then i hanged up. But I'm still worried because I gave her my REAL address.

I have my residential and cell phone numbers registered on this site and still get these telemarketing and nuisance calls.  I now check call display and do not answer any numbers I am not familiar with.  If it is important, they will leave a message and I can return the call.

I do not answer calls that I don't recognize the number, and (000) 000-0000 tells me I do not want to talk to whomever it is.

I have recorded the SIT sound at the beginning of my answering machine message and it helps to cut down on the robocalls.

recieved 2 calls today but they are blocked.  Anyone not wanting to be seen has something to hide!!!!!

"YOU ARE A TELEMARKETER, AND I DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ANY COMPANY THAT USES TELEMARKETING AS A FORM OF ADVERTISING" (stolen from a comment on this web site -- I love it).  And do not answer name unavailable ever as calls are now starting to say that often.  Another comment from this web site says: When you press the number to have your number removed, all you do is confirm that your number is a working one.  Now I either block the numbers or I don't answer the phone at all.  Another comment was:  They sold your known active number to another scammer!!!  That is what they do when you call them back to opt out.  SO DON’T HAVE YOUR NUMBER REMOVED!

Let me explain my idea of ROBO CALLS. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). The program starts calling every number that it can in succession.  So they don't need to buy or obtain lists from anyone.  I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site (9,999,98 numbers more to copy and paste to)

NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP THESE SCAMMERS AND LAZY COLLECTION AGENCIES (statute of limitations on debt:  http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml)  who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective..  DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.

So, just block them, DON'T ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS, and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls.  If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back.  No problem.  It’s a lot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller,  but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional.  Another smart person on this web site said to save it to your contacts as spam 1, then spam 2, etc. so you can just ignore the call.

ITS OUR LIFE AND WE NEED TO TAKE IT BACK.
One person said to call forward selective to the FCC whose number is 1-717-338-2533

The Center for Investigative Reporting joined two news organizations in an investigation of groups that use telemarketers to raise money and what they found is that most of the money is paid to telemarketers, leaving the charities with little, if anything. (3%)

Not only that but reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.

So it's good advice to remember to just say no to anyone who solicits over the phone unless you actually know the person calling.

I really wish these people would stop calling. They
Call more than twice a day & up until 9:30pm. It's rather
Annoying. I have answer before & got a recording
I hate these things. They call at the most inconvenient times.
Besides, who has a number with only 0's in it. I never heard of such.
    It's just weird.

    Solution
I received calls from these fools up to 10 times a day, starting as early as 3am! After ignoring the calls for months, I answered and simply said "Columbus Police Dept. Detective Carroll speaking."  They hung up and never called again. Try it!

This happens to me all the time from 000-000-0000.  I answered and it said, good bye after a few seconds.  I wonder if this gives them time to record any information.  Can we block this number?
