Just got the same automated call, from the same number, on two different land lines (different companies, different local service providers, same area code (225)) within minutes of each other.

Same scenario, I have a business, am on the do not call list, just got a call from these losers.

This is what happens when the politicians, "Get the government off the back of the people."  It's not the people they're trying to protect.  They're doing the bidding of businesses who want to run roughshod over the people. Wake up people! Only government can regulate this type abuse, businesses won't regulate themselves.

I got the same call today with just silence on the other end. Tried called back and it said it wasn't a valid number! Creepy!

I generally never answer calls that I did not recognize and when I do, and find out that it is one of those annoying sales or debt calls I add them to my ever growing long contact "Do Not Answer". Then set that contact to silent and go straight to voice mail. BUT I seen this really stupid number "10000001111" @ 11:12 am Eastern time that could not have been right. So I answered it like and idiot to hear this stupid female recording "Sorry Wrong Number" as soon as I said hello. Without me saying who, what, when or how. So if they already knew they had the wrong number with out asking anything. Why the hell did they call in the first place. When I call the number back another recording says "Check The Number Or Code And Try Again".

We have r4eceived several calls a day from 0000001111.  It is very annoying and is there anything we can do to9 stop it.

Stop the 0000001111 calls.  Several a day on the cell.

Several times a day and night calls come from this number and it is all hiours iof day and night .  It is very annoying and would like it stopped of possible.

I've gotten calls from that number several times recently.  Whatever/whoever it is, it's really annoying.  

I'm with AT&T and don't think I'm getting charged.  I can't find a way to block incoming calls from a specific number... anybody know how?

To those of you trying to call the number back, you can't, it's not a valid number. Caller ID is easy to fake. Additionally it is impossible for you to be charged for an incoming call unless it is a collect call.

After researching, it has become clear this is part of a scheme that is collecting valid numbers. All they are doing is calling to see if a human answers, once you do your number gets added to a list which may be sold and used by anyone that buys it. These are distributed to telemarketing companies and scammers, by answering this call you may open yourself up to future harassment.

If you get a call from an unknown or random number like this on a private phone, never answer. If it is important they will leave a voicemail. Only answer calls that identify an actual number or that you recognize.

Same here, called my cell and said "wrong number"

I've been getting calls from 1-000-000-000 and 1-000-000-1111 over five years, on and off, and truly very seldom, thank goodness, but when I called my telephone company they said that was impossible, some of the operators are super sharp, but others are twits, add that to the jerks that make these calls and it amounts to a problem, not just for me, but for so many others, just look at how many people have complained about these numbers here - WOW.  Keep complaining to your phone company, or Federal Trade Comission  "  ftc.gov "  or California Public Utilities Comission.  We have to start screaming at them.

Good advice Sean, I also have a DON'T ANSWER list.  It does help.

Nothing on Caller I.D. but the phone number.  I do not answer when it is obvious that the JERK caller is disguising the phone number. Legitimate callers do not do that.

I have been getting these calls. Not to cell phone but my business hard line phone. Sure gets old. This is Christmas Day . Give people a break and find a real job.

I believe all they are doing is verifying a number is actual & working.
then , "they" compile a huge list & sell it . it is worth more as  they all are proven useful ph. numbers.

How do you know this is not some government group needing you to open the connection so they can hijack your phone and turn it into an open mic? Or in the case of a smartphone, a live video?

The original design of Echelon required the target to answer the phone once in order to hi-jack the line to use as an open microphone, but that was over 20 years ago.  Don't know anything for sure....just wondering!
