I got one this morning on a land line at 7 and my daughter got one on her cell last night.

It seems like we should be able to program our phones to silence calls with spoofed area codes.  Anyone know if that's possible?

Would be a good way to silence robo-calls in time for the next election.

received call from 000-000-1111 at 7:45 am (apparently they don't know we switched over to daylight savings time)   I have  a "talking" caller ID on my phone..best thing I ever bought....perfect for the elderly and handicapped.  phone was very inexpensive...wouldn't be without it. you only need to have the caller ID service to use this phone.  Made by Panasonic.

As I checked this out, it looks like ANYONE can buy a website on a ghost domain from this company.  Hard to tell if all calls are even coming from the same site.  Looks like the sites can be "invisible" to only the best geeks.  Wish someone could track down this particular company.  I got a call too on my lan line which is in my husband's name.  If this doesn't make sense it's because I'm NOT a geek!  I think I'm getting what this company is about though, even if I don't use the right words.  Whadda ya think about all this?  You seem to have figured this out, but left us non-geeks kind of hanging.  Do you have an explanation?

Called me tonight at 8:27 MST.  Busy guys....go back a few pages and there's a link to these people.  Seems it's a company where ANYONE can buy an invisible website or domain.  Looks like they're in all kinds of countries, not just the US.  IT COULD BE ANYONE!  And I'm thinking the number is the same for everyone...gets filtered through this bogus number, and no one can call it back.  I'm no computer genius, but this guy's link was very informative.  Probably someone who buys an invisible domain isn't a good thing.  I'm going to block the number.

There are probably thousands of domains people can buy.  They expire and then get a new one.  I found out enough about this company through your link.  Not good stuff.

Received this call at 1pm on Thanksgiving Day. Also, one month prior, we received a monthly reoccurring charge of $9.95 from a "Mind Quiz" game text messaging service on another AT&T Wireless family plan phone line. The user of that phone did not consent to purchase that service.

Does everyone by chance happen to use the phone number (that the received the 1111 call from) as a published business number as well? I recall seeing other people saying they received it on their business line.
