Your best bet these days are to consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 US$ or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

I work for a company north of Adelaide and this number (0011976000) has been calling for the last few months. Every time I answer the phone nobody talks back and they hang up after a few seconds. Really annoying. I tried to call the number back but says 'service unavailable'. Not sure what country this is from and what they want.

My call from this number was about all the viruses on my computer from Telstra and this wonderful man could save my computer if I just entered some information into my computer and followed his instructions. I let him rave for a while, marvelling at someone being able to talk on and on without drawing breath, then I hung up.

Received this call on answering machine, they terminated call after they had no response for 5 seconds or so. Time was early evening. Has it anything to do with people involved in gang stalking ie are you having other suspicious difficulties?

Answered call (0011976000) from unknown person, could not understand as heavy [***] or Indian accent. Saying follow up call on lights I had fitted a few days ago (I think it was lights?) I said "nothing fitted here, he was a liar and don't ring back" I hung up. Have been having calls from "private" number day and night for a few weeks, even while on the do not call list. I do not answer private numbers. This time saw the number and unsuspectingly answered as waiting on a important call from the hospital. DO NOT RING HERE YOU TIME WASTING BLUDGERS!!

    Scams on scams!

I've had plenty of calls similar to those mentioned already - internet problems, car accidents - anything you can think of. Got another call today and for the first time, actually paid attention to the caller ID and it was this same number. This time they were doing "solar panel consultations in [my] area" so confused, I asked what country they were calling from. After some hesitation, the Indian sounding male replied that he was calling from Australia (I am in Australia). I said that that's not what the caller ID demonstrates and he went quiet for a few seconds before ending the call!

    Be careful ladies and gents!

I have received 12 calls from 00111976000 in the past 24 hours.  I know there are idiots and crooks all over the world, so that part I can accept whilst our authorities catch and penalise these people.  I cannot accept that this has been going on for at least 3 years, and nothing has been done to stop it.  Are our authorities just too bone lazy to do their job ?
PS I have this number diverted elsewhere, so I never actually hear the phone ring.

I have had a call from this number on numerous occasions, always int he middle of the night.  My answering machine goes on and all they say is "hello, hello, hello, hello"  a few more times.  It is a ladies voice of Indian origin.  I am really sick of them.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

I got a call 2016 saying they were something like tripadvisor or another legit travel service (sorry, home with migraine), they were trying to give me a free holiday to Bali or Thailand. A lot of detail but for some reason they wanted my credit card to hold a free trip for 3 years. Not sure that I wanted it anyway because the kids and I don't like humidity, I was handed on to a manager. He had an aussie accent rather than the Asian accents of two previous women. Anyway, he wanted to know what the problem was and so I told him we didn't like humidity and I didn't want to hand my credit card details over the phone and it sounded to good to be true and he told me 'don't think too hard you'll give yourself a headache!' and hung up. I think if they really were legitimately representing the other company they'd be horrified.

    Hi Stef,
I can't help with Uniden, sorry.  I do block calls very effectively with a Panasonic cordless phone.  There is however a much cheaper alternative that blocks over 1000 numbers.  You might like to look up CPR Call Blocker.
