I got called at 4AM!!!! woke me up. They said my computer had crashed...
I checked it and went back to bed. 3 hours later my computer tried to upload 56 TROJAN VIRUSES!!!!
FREAKY! Glad I've got security on it!

Indian "Windows Support" scam.  Said his name was "Richard" although he couldn't pronounce it correctly.

It's fun to string them along for as long as possible, if you have them time and the inclination.  That might save the next unsuspecting sucker.  (I know my parents would fall for this.)

Forget the Do Not Call lists - they ignore them.

Forget reporting them to the FCC - FCC cannot do anything about calls from other countries.

Your best bet is to use a phone service that allows you to block calls.  (Ooma is one such service.)

Just seeing that number on your caller ID should tell you it's a scam

Thanks so much for this post! This happened to me today and I almost fell for it....I told him to call back in 10 minutes and I looked the number up on the internet. When he called back I told him I would have my technician look at my computer and he started on about how expensive that would be. I told him not to call again. Thank you for taking the time to give a heads up! I sure appreciate it!

This number calls our house many times a day.  Sick and tired of them calling.

Called three times; finally answered on third call; hinted they were hired by Microsoft due to the many problems in my computer. Told them any problems were with old computer and old IP provider and I now had a new computer. The man who was hard to understand got aggressive. I could hear many voices in the background and knew this was a scam. I got more aggressive and told him I would tape, record and provide to police, to never call here again and I mean NEVER

earlier today it happend to me and as soon as i picked up i knew it was a bad idea. mainly because it was at 4 o,clock in the moorning bu secondly because the first thing they said was hello i think your version of windows does not exsist anymore, so i reply saying dont you ever think before you call someone like this if they even have a windows pc in the whole houce so sorry but i think that its just you thats dosemnt exist anymore ;bleep;

This number has called 3 times this morning.  It is very annoying.

Calls from this number many times last three days, no answer and I hung up.  This morning again, caller from India (sounded like) saying my computer was infected with a virus and sending error messages from Microsoft.  I told him to have someone that speaks English to call me.  He kept saying the same thing and wanted me to follow his instructions.  I told him I didn't believe him and not to call me any more.

This number called me at noon today,  A young man with an Indian accent began telling me about a problem with my computer.  I said I couldn't understand him, so he said "hang up the phone."  I did.

This has to be some sort of scam!  Caller rings -- I do NOT pick up any calls that I do NOT recognize, EVER -- and caller does NOT leave a voice mail message.  Anyone using a call number of (123) 456-7890 has to be hiding something.  No name is shown under the Caller ID Name -- AGAIN, another clue of a scam.

I just received a call that I did not anwer. I did notice that there is no area code 123. What gives....???? When I tried calling back the recording came on and said to check the number and try calling again.
How can "they" call and when I call back the recording say number invalid??????

I got 21 calls from 121234567890 in one hour and 25 minutes today. My phone tells me the calls are from Morocco but I have the number set on my blacklist so I don't know anything about who is on the other end.

Got a call from this number today.  No one answered, so I kept saying "hello?"  Finally a recorded woman's voice came on and said "Goodbye."   HUH????   Idiots.

you know what, just call the police next time they call.

I recieved a phone call today from a man with an Indian accent, he said my computer was sending out spam and that if I would go to my computer he would give me the information to fix it. I asked him if he thougth I was stupid or an idiot - his reply was both and he hung up.

Same here...I am blowing an air horn in the phone now....he still keeps on calling. I think his phone cuts out at a certain Decibel. I'm gonna start using a whistle...this guy is pissing me off

I must get 3-4 calls a day,  I don't answer it when I see it on the phone. Wish they would give up and go somewhere else.

I suspect that this is a prankster using one of those internet based telephones. Many years ago these calls were humorous, such as:

Caller: Is your refrigerator running?

you: yes

Caller: Then go out and catch it.
