They tell you that you've been chosen to receive a government grant for whatever amount they tell you. It's always $9000 for me!!! Ha!
Anyway, they say they can put it into your bank account or debit/credit card or they can Western Union it to you!!! First of all you CAN'T Western Union that much money! Second, they tell you to go to your nearest Wal-Mart or Western Union spot and to call them before you walk in-oh and to bring $250 in cash with you!!!!! Then they want you to go in and send them the $250 cash you have to cover the Western Union fee and then they'll send you $9250 right back!!!!! RIGHT!
I asked them why I needed to send them $250 if they were going to give it right back? They couldn't answer! I also asked them why they couldn't just send me $8750 to cover the fee and they couldn't answer!!!! I then asked them why they wouldn't just send me a government check and they said they'd had some complaints from people about the checks! Who's going to complain about a $9000 check????
These people are the lowest of the low!!! Total scam artists who prey on people in need of a break!! My husband actually watched a young mother at Wal-Mart send off her last $500 to these people and they kept her on the phone and tried to get her to send MORE while telling her the money they sent should be there any minute!!!  This happened before I got the call, so my husand didn't know what was going on exactly, but he stepped up and told the lady at the Western Union to not let this girl send anymore money because she was obviously being scammed!!
Anyway, everybody beware of these people! Call the cops and report them-I did! We can stop the scammers if we take action against them!!

This number is repeatedly calling me.  The first time, they said they were Microsoft and that ny computer had a problem.  They asked me to execute run cmd , basically ti get a DOS prompt.  They then asked me to type in assoc, which I did not do.
This number continually calls my cell phone

I keep getting phone calls from this number numerous times per day..... They say and sentnce and hang up.  I want this stopped!!!!

I was getting calls from them saying same thing,Government grant,,calls first came from Florida 305-907-0125, 305 356 9999, 786 738 5082, 786 581 7707 then tonight this one from 202 000 1111 same guy with fake accent.. I only answered first one,,blocked all..but is driving me nuts. I reported to fcc online,,but got a reply saying they cant do personal complaints? or something like that..I may try again and use a business name "government grant dept"

I have no idea who is making the call. The first time I called back someone did come on the line but I could not distinguish what they were saying. I called back again and received "Welcome to Verizon wireless your call cannot be completed as dial." I receive these calls at least once a week.

I got this wired number from DC, USA. I did not answer but went straignt online looking for this number. And apparently it is not a number from the government.

I keep getting phone calls from 202-000-1111 and they need to stop.

We got a call from it and could understand the person......thick accent

I have been receiving phone calls from numerous scams and different phone numbers all over the US. Just a few days ago I get a phone call from an unknown number. "Michael" went on to explain to me 9 different times that i counted of, how i was selected for a grant of $7400. He said he knew my information and email and everything because he was part of the government...i went on to explain that the government doesn't just give things like that away you have to apply for them. we went back and forth for a bit and i kept going over his information that i wrote down and finally asked to speak to his manager. He said he wasn't available which they never are and its the same old story...he finally got pissed off enough at me and called me a [***] [***] to which i laughed at and said that he definitely wasn't part of the government grant department talking to me like that. I'm so over getting phone calls from them!

Got a call from this number 202-000-1111 at 6:13 pm 6/15/15ask guy not to call my number again and he said f**k you and hung up this crap is gettin bad

just called, hanged up on me when I've said that i don't disclose personal info by phone.

Said they were from the U.S. Government talked with an exaggerated "American" accent.  I asked where they got my number.  They just hung up.

this number called me this afternoon saying that I am qualified for government grants, I said I didn't apply for they got angry.

They've called several times from different numbers... This time 202-000-1111.
Said they were US Federal Grants Dept and that I had won a grant.
I reported to Better Business Bureau-- AS SHOULD ALL OF YOU!!! If enough people complain maybe the BBB will actually pay attention and DO THEIR JOBS by making this nonsense stop.

Just got a call from 202-000-1111 sound like they sayed I owe them money all I know is sounded like damn out of country trying to scam me, I do not talk to any one with a accent bad enough I was force to speak english in Indian Boarding School.

They have been calling daily but I will not answer the phone ever.

i did not answer it 202-000-1111 because i knew it was a scam that they are trying the same person with different numbers to get their bank info, the government does not give away  any money  it takes money  so why would anyone do this ....it is sick that people with an accent from Iraq or place like this would pry on the elderly or mentally  or anyone for that mater it is sick and twisted they need to be stop .

This is a scam simply because 000 is not a valid phone prefix.
