Survey research is NOT covered by the do not call rules.  The national Do Not Call Registry was established by the Federal Trade Commission in June 2003 to meet the requirements of the Do Not Call Implementation Act. The law made it illegal for TELEMARKETERS to call consumers with whom they did not have a prior business  relationship.

The FTC exempted survey and opinion research because it is a critical part of making and monitoring policy decisions. Researchers collect and measure public opinion and feed it into the policy process so that the views and values of the citizenry have a place at the table when decisions are made.

Survey research is used in a variety of ways, from providing us with the Census to tracking immunizations. Research gives elected officials a reality check, and can protect against policy decisions based only on assumptions, guesswork and ideology.

Although survey firms are exempt, most do maintain internal do-not-call lists.

So, yes your number may be on the do not call list, but as of know, survey research companies are not PROHIBITED from calling you.  If you an issue with that please contact your senator/representatives to have the rules changed.

Today at 213 pm.  Based on the last few posts being mine,  I'm starting to feel like these morons only call me LOL!

Hey guess what, another hangup call today at 5:05 pm.

5:05 pm again tonight.  I was on another call and certainly would not interrupt an important call for such morons.

129 pm today.

Too bad for them they only seem to keep calling me, cuz I now press "talk" immediately followed by "off".
Oh yeah, the latest was today at 513 pm.

Repeated hangup calls to my cell.  If they leave a message I will call back.  If no message, I will not call back.

Suspicious "national research study" performing a shady sounding "health insurance satisfaction survey". Caller became defensive when I asked questions.

This number just rang my phone at 9:33 pm.  I let it go to machine and they did not leave a message.  Also on state and federal DNC list.

Survey from National Research, LLC in Wash., DC.  I got so many calls I finally started e-mailing their company President, Rebecca Craig every time I got a call (bcraig@nationalres.com).

She got tired of hearing from me and the calls stopped.  E-mail her.  It will help!

Two consecutive days of calls, from this number, and as someone else mentioned, always at the dinner hour.  Did not answer, no message left.  The Call Type selection is based upon others' posts and not because I know for sure the nature of the call.

I received a call from this number on 1/10/14 at 6:00 pm MST.  The woman identified herself as a representative of a company conducting a national survey about retirement planning.  She was polite and asked whether I had time to answer some questions.   She said the survey would take about fifteen minutes.  I didn't have time right then, but offered to take the survey for her if she would call back in an hour.   She was polite and told me she would contact me in an hour.  She did call back, right on the hour - at 7 pm.   Her first question was whether I had a land line connected to my home, or whether I only had a cell phone number.   (I thought that was a rather odd question, but I answered it, and told her I have two numbers, one is a cell number, and the other is an internet based number).   Her next question was "What year were you born?".  I gave her the answer, and then she replied that they already had enough respondents from that age category, and so there would be no further questions.  She thanked me, and politely ended the call.     Sounds like possibly a legitimate survey to me, but my cell number is also registered with the "Do Not Call" registry, so obviously this company is not paying attention to that...

Got a call from this number today.  I answered, but nobody there.  Then they hung up.

These jerks just called me at 9:35 PM at night.  That alone is a violation of federal law.
Did not answer.  No message left on answering machine.
I will immediately block this phone number on my Verizon FiOS call blocking service.  Will never hear from them again.
Based on previous postings (since 2009 for crying out loud!) I do not believe these people are any sort of legitimate or legal survey firm.  Except for one or two instances of "civility," they seem to be rude, aggressive, total D*ckheads.
I may also email the company Prez, Rebecca Craig at bcraig@nationalres.com, and urge her in the most absolute terms possible that if I get one more call from them, I WILL show up at their offices with a police officer and a warrant.

Let Craig hear from you folks.  Convincingly, factually, frequently (i.e., interminably), and very, very clearly.  Perhaps we can achieve "effective communication" in a manner that these professional "communicators" will comprehend.

Been on vacation, come home and see that this number has called at least once a day for every day we were gone. Of course no message. Someone that can call that much and leave no message deserves no time from me. So on the call block they go!

We bought a blocker which we add the number to and after the first ring, it drops the call.  I'm also on the DNC roll, but doesn't work.  Hate those late-night callers, I also think it may be family related.
