- Mark HejnaReceived a call from a woman claiming to have my $10,200 and I just needed to give her my bank routing number or a credit card with a $0 balance and they would deposit it in my account. I told her to send a check to my address. She told me she would cancel the money. I told her to do what ever made her happy but there wasn't a person who speaks proper english that would supply an idiot with the numbers she was asking for. She hung up.
- JCM replies to Irene cornwellBeing on the Do Not Call list doesn't mean they can't get your number. It just means that they are not supposed to call you. But they do anyway.
- jhs1269They called me twice and did not answer both times and based on previous comments I'm glad I didn't
- DavidThey called me and said I have $10200 government grant money, I asked who they were and responded they were from Washington DC and I have one a grant. I told her I did not believe I one the money and she told me to believe them because I was speaking to her meaning she was the supervisor. First I spoke to a male I could not understand his accent so I asked him to let me talk to of a supervisor and that's how I started to speek to her. Don't know if it was a prank or not So I did not trust him or her so I hang up.
- Caller: US government from Washington $10,200
- CarrieI got this call saying I was chosen for grant money from Washington and listened to her whole line of crap just for the heck of it and when I told her she must think I am stupid if she wants me to give her my checking account number and hung up on her, she called right back and kept telling me to listen to her and wouldn't let me talk. I could barely understand her, her accent clearly tells me she's from another country. SCAM!!!!!!!!

- R. HufnagleAn accented man (maybe British?) called my cell phone, said he was from ??? and then mentioned something like getting a grant, but when I asked him to repeat where he was calling from he YELLED (shortening his phrase) "F ### YOU" then hung up his phone! My phone has been ringing quite frequently the past week or so, but usually when I answer I hear nothing up until today ?!
- Caller: phone didn't have any name - just #
- MGoddardI got my first call from this number today. Sounds exactly like the same man. I asked him to send paperwork in the mail and he said he can not do that. He tried to lure me saying this is a one time thing, once in a lifetime but they don't send it in the mail because they tried that any many people never got their money. Yeah, because there was never any money in the first place. When I told him I was not stupid he didn't understand me because of his accent and said, "I know you are not a student!". Anyway, I started getting TONS of calls from these online university laces after I went onto a site that supposedly searches for jobs and I know for a fact they gave my number out. As soon as I selected "NO I do not want to be contacted about educational opportunities" my phone rang and I mean within seconds. And I've gotten a thousand of those calls so I think the online job search site is linked to these scammers.
- Caller: Government Financial Services

- Happygurl| 1 replyThe guy has called me 10 times today. He was very rude when I asked him to quit calling me and he said he was going to call me numerous times every day and so far today he has stuck to his word. Can hardly understand him. Is there anything I can do to make it stop? Can the police help?
- Mike in MD replies to HappygurlContact your phone company and explain the situation. For something like this they should be able to help with a temporary block on the number at no charge to you. You may have to hit *57 after each call to trace the real number since the display number is likely spoofed. Since it is doubtful the caller is actually in the US despite the Washington, DC area code displayed, the police will not be able to help.
- LorraineCall me to tell me i will receive 10020 she was calling from the government. Yeah right.
