I have been getting many calls from this number.  5 calls within 35 minutes!!  They tried to tell me it was something wrong with my computer and they were from Microsoft.  They said that I had an unauthenticated version of Windows and it was sending them errors.  This is such a scam!  Do not give them any information.  Asked for a number to call back - completely different number and area code - nobody answers!

Scam! 202-768-7680 called on October 14, I didn't answer but they left a message. I couldn't understand the first part of the message but the last half said: "Do not discard this call, this a direct line to my office. Failure to return this call could result in our office taking legal action."

I just got the same message on my machine today.

They just called me but I got a recorded message saying it was Officer ??, couldn't tell with the Indian accent, and that he was from the IRS, if I want to avoid criminal charges I need to call him back NOW.

Received the same recorded call at 3:33 today. Believe the name given was Officer Sheldon Scott. It was difficult to control my laughter and actually listen to the rest of the ridiculous message. If the IRS had a legitimate beef, chances are you'd get a letter in your mailbox or a couple of badges knocking on your front door.

Yup, just got this same message

Robo-call saying "this message is from the Internal Revenue Service".  I hung up.  I am on the Do-Not-Call list, and the number is not from the IRS.

Caller from this number claimed to be an agent from the IRS and needed to access a computer at my number due to illegal activities or I would risk legal action. I did not wait for the "We need $$$ to avert legal action" part. I told them I would report them to the FBI and they hung up. Person left a voice mail to call back at 1-202-350-2734.

It very much IS an insult, it's basically calling your mother an infidel. A (children block your eyes) Wh**e essentially. The next time they say something like that I'd tell him what his father bends over for at night, see what he says to that!

Received a phone call from this number at 5:52 on the 27th.  Dinner time.  Did not answer it, they hung up.  Called them back and the recording said that I would be connected to someone in a minute or two.  This recording came on three times and then I put the phone down on the table and kept it on.  Went back to check on it ten minutes later and there was a quick busy.  Obviously a scam going on here so I took the initiative and reported this number to the proper authorities.  They informed me that they would look into it and take the proper action necessary to make them stop harassing people at dinner time.  It is obvious to me that these people have no life and get a kick out of harassing people they do not even know.  What a sad job to have.  I have been unemployed for over three years but it will be a cold day in hell before I take a job like this one.  It seems very degrading to the human existence, but I guess someone has to do it.  Better them than me:)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received an automated call from this number today.

received 2 automated calls from this number while out of town informing me that the IRS was filing a lawsuit!!  Where do I report this nonsense???

2 automated calls on our voice mail purportedly from IRs threatening a pending lawsuit.  This number is not the IRS... We are on the do not call list, how do they ever manage to get around this??

They are criminals, who ignore all US laws.  Being in either India or Pakistan, they have nothing to worry about.

Same here ... vm said it was the IRS and "moving to sue".

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
