We got a call from this number today at 3:16 pm and didn't answer. The caller ID was CONNECTICUT. A voicemail message was left regarding a back or knee brace for people with chronic back or knee pain. The number will be added to our call blocker. I highly recommend such a device to avoid these nuisances.

Received a call from the pain center claiming someone from my phone number called about a back brace.  NO ONE FROM MY PHONE CALLED THESE PEOPLE.  Pressed two to be removed from their call list, waiting to see how long it will take for them to call me again.

Do not call list is a joke.

I don't answer unfamiliar numbers, especially from out of state. They left no message and I blocked their number

They keep changing their number every 3 or 4 days using different area codes and most of the numbers have showed on caller ID as "contact center" this  number was the first time it showed as Connecticut.  This is how they are trying to work around the do not call list by claiming they are merely returning your call.  There was a company called etelequote insurance that was calling and scamming people by inputting their info on different insurance websites and than claiming they were only responding back because the consumer was requesting info - these scammers tricks are getting very old and easy to see through

Called my landline a few minutes ago; call went to voicemail because I don't answer unknown calls. Recorded female voice on my voicemail said she was calling from the "Pain Center" because someone at my number had requested a back or knee brace for pain (not true, of course).

I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer.  The callers didn't leave a message.

I never pick up the phone and they call at least 3-4 times a day. So special time just always and everyday. I have registered with the DO NOT CALL registry but to no avail.

Same as above.  Left message saying someone from this number called to ask about a back brace.  Liars.

They called earlier today.  I didn't answer, and they left no messages.  Based upon comments above, will assume that it's the back brace scammers.

Caller ID showed Connecticut. Didn't answer. They hung up on me when they heard my answering machine message..most people do.

I am pretty sure these telemarketers get our phone numbers from a Medicare list.  If you are on Medicare you can get a back brace, knee brace or electric scooter at little or no cost to you.  They will work with your doctor and do all of the paper work.  Right.  They are just scamming Medicare.  No wonder Medicare is running out of money.  The "do not call list" is over 10 years old.  How is that working out for you?

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
