- Dan replies to BigAYes when we pay HUGE taxes and some of it going to GOVERNMENT organizations that are PAID to prevent this sort of thing, and they create a list that is sold off to anyone who wants to buy it, then it is THERE responsibility to change some laws and create blocks that prevent this kind of harassment.
They are being PAID by us. They WORK for US. Yes, there screwing us. They want this and it appears so do you.
Not everyone can afford to buy a call blocker, have flip phones that don't have blockers, the elderly, the disabled, and for you to suggest THEY spend more, or to insinuate they have the means is well, a bit insulting. There are great ideas out there that are NOT being implemented and it's because of Government greed.
Fact is the make WAY to much money off the list and they dont want that going away. I suspect a lot of posters on here either belong to some of these money schemes, call blockers etc, or have a specific reason for what they say.
Sunnidae, i suggest if you do not have the means to purchase these frivolous blocker or dont have the phones to support, for a cell, save the person to your contacts, assign there ringtone to "NO RING", i also suggest you get your numbers off the DO NOT CALL LIST, it can take a long time but you will notice the calls getting less and less. It took me about 2 years to get to the point where 7-8 calls a day, just on my landline is 1-2 calls a week, my cell i rarely get any since taking it off. Try that. It will help.
Now watch to DO NOT CALL LIST BACKERS get on here to support it. It's hilarious. - Jane Mullins| 1 replyI did not answer the call, they did not leave a message. We are on the do not call list.
- Caller: Connecticut
- Dan replies to sick and tiredLol, someone gave you a neg because you said the Do not call list does not work! Everything i been saying about this place. They want you on that list REAL bad. They want your number, and they want to sell it. Get your numbers off the list, watch what happens, you will be shocked. The calls get less and less. And my landline is listed. When i put my cell and landline on that list, my calls exploded! Another thing is to change your number, dont put it on the list, and you wont get any scam calls, you may get some legit one if it is listed, then you lie, say your on the DNC, and they dont call back anyway. The list is a HUGE Gov SCAM that we as taxpayers are forking out money to to run that place. It needs to be SHUT down.
- Tamianth replies to Jane MullinsConsider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/07/26/colorado ... er-id-spoofing/ - Dan replies to Burlco48I totally agree with you! I have been saying for years that the phone companies be held responsible, and contrary to the posters here who negged you, "they have there own agendas" there are MANY others who agree with you as well.
Also, lets add getting rid of the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY that our government sells to anyone with a credit card. Its a sham, robo dialers are not cheap true ones are extremely expensive, the ones that create numbers, so what the scammers do is buy the registry, its pretty much the only way to get cell numbers, "its easy and much cheaper, i checked it out" load up the numbers and they have there own manufactured robo, then what they do is use skype, since robocalling from india or any other scum country, is very costly, so, skype needs to be regulated by our gov. Any robo dialing out of country on skype, can be ended, Or any web based server doing so. So, lets call for legislation to end Web based service allowing robo calling, call for any phone service that if they have complaints on scam numbers, that if they dont shut that service off, they be fined $5,000 for each call and that fine going direct to the victim reporting the calls. THEN, since call spoofing is ILLEGAL, and yet they still allow all these services on the net to do it, Lets make it REALLY illegal, shut down ALL the net services doing so, then they call spoof anymore. Now for my last thing, no more allowing these sham call centers claiming a charity, a call center is NOT a charity, change some laws on that so they have to give at least 75% to the charity. Not 10%. Another attack needs to be on Level 3 communications.
Considering that when the DNC started that gave the scammers access to all our numbers. Shut the DNC down. There useless and i would rather have some legit calls than this!
Next, force the DNC to run ads about scam calls, educate the American public, for obviously there is still to many handing over cash to them.
Let the scammer negs begin! Lol - DukeJust another scammer saying I ordered a back brace....nope your a liar and crook......another number block.....get a job.....
- Caller: Scammer Scum Bag
- Call type: Telemarketer
- HankThey call. I do not answer. They do not leave msg. They keep calling until someone answers. DNC list is a joke.
- Caller: Pain Center

- Smarter Than The Thieving Scammers replies to david evans| 3 repliesEver notice how these calls EXACTLY match the skeezy comercials on CABLE TV about Back and Knee Braces, Pain Relieving Creams, Medical Device/surgery/ Lawsuits, Environmental Exposure Lawsuites (asbestos) and Other things designed to get you to give up personal info, SS#, Medicare/Medicaid #, etc.
Suspect that THE CABLE PROVIDERS, in our case TIME WARNER CABLE, are SELLING their subscribers' NAMES/PHONE #s and possibly OTHER INFO to their BOGUS SHADY BACK-ROOM ADVERTISERS. Probably happening with SATELLITE TV PROVIDERS, Too. Some even have 'policies' that say you cannot 'opt out' of this exchange of your personal info.
TIME TO WRITE OUR CONGRESSPEOPLE and DEMAND that this be CHANGED/ILLEGAL *AND* we **GET PAID** for EACH AND EVERY one of these calls to our homes and private cells.
TIME for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against the CABLE/SATELLITE TV BIG BOYS - Including CEOs, BOARDS of DIRECTORS and WHOLE TOP TWO RUNGS of EXECUTIVES. - marythey keep calling but I don't answer
- JwcMore of the same, just want SS number/credit card number. Another scam. Don't answer.
- Zakil Bumsen203-437-7659 with the same message from a foreign sounding male as the number that called me yesterday.- 866-910-7673 but this was not from a low life back brace seller. This scam must be a new one because the caller told me almost the same thing that I had entered and won a contest to win an all expense paid trip for 3 days at the Bunny Ranch in Las Vegas. He said that if I entered the code numbers 666 I could claim my prize of 3 days of "heavenly carnal bliss among all the fantastically experienced girls or boys if I wanted who would pleasure me in as many ways ad I could imagine." Same wording as the other caller yesterday. What is a bunny ranch??? I want to know how these scams get around the world like this one. Call block activated. I hope all of those low lifes get VD and rot in h-ll.
- Caller: Sex oriented scam
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Rhode IslandGot this call with "Pain Center" as the caller ID. Nobody has any medical complaints in this house. The area code was for the western part of Connecticut. We don't do business with anyone in Connecticut - period. I did a reverse number search on the number and found seven pages of complaints. It would be nice if these scammers got a life. Sheesh.
- Caller: Pain Center
- spammerslammerSo this is the scammer peddling knee and back braces. Nobody here needs one or ever asked for one. Looks like another phishing scam. Of course the caller's name shows up as a bunch of numbers. That means they have something to hide.
- Caller: scumbag scammer

- I block scam callsCalled at 11:37 am today. Caller ID said, "Connecticut." I did not answer. They left no message. Based on all the comments here I have blocked the number.
- Caller: Connecticut
- InfoThese "callers" use "auto-dialers" programmed to call a block of numbers using area code, exchange and number starting with 0000 to 9999. They look for "valid" numbers. The phone numbers and other data are being sold by your trusted businesses and government organizations, even driver license and vehicle registration facilities. When someone gets a call; and you answer it, your number is then "validated" and placed on yet another list to be sold to other scammers
who do the same thing. FCC this year has mandated changes for this type of equipment and the owners. A big issue is that "VOIP" products can bounce their signals all over the vast internet servers worldwide so their locations can never be accurately determined. Resolve: Don't answer the phone if you don't recognize the number, even if you do, let it go to Voice Mail. If someone REALLY knows you and wants to contact you they will leave a VM and/or send you a USPS letter.- Caller: Who knows?
- Call type: Telemarketer
