Tell them to put it in writing, If the claim is legit they'll send a letter confirming the claim. If they don't send any information, then it's harassment and you can file a lawsuit against them

Ask them for their address and send them a letter stating that you want all communication to cease.  They legally have to abide.  If they don't they could get in trouble with the law.

I got many calls from the 205-423-4020 number and i dont answer my phone half the time any way if i dotn know who it is that is calling me. the worst thing is when i do answer and they hang up and than i call back and the number is not working any more. their all annoying and they dont give up. i tried to talk to one of them one time and they told me i would have to send a letter to them to get them to stop calling me. unless i know who is calling me i dont answer calls how wonderful for caller ID.
but i see a lot of people here who claim they are fake or out to scam people i say talk to them and tell them to give you proof of so called debt i wonder how many people here really have debt and maybe dont want to admit it? and i wonder if they were fake How would they get your phone number? it seems strange they would call any one and just ask for money you owe them? they say your not meant to ignore those calls from debt collectors but i dont like them at all even if they are doing their job.
its harrassment and they need to stop. change your number if you dont like it i say.

the problem with the Do Not Call Registry is that it only pertains to Telemarketers. It doesn't apply to debt collectors. They can pretty much call and harass anyone they want to. They can even lie to you if they want just to get information out of you that wouldn't usually have given. Debt Collectors are the soul-less scum that somehow climbed their way out of hell for the distinct purpose of making normal people's lives a living hell.

FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has nothing to do with who calls you. . Try the FCC

My only resolution is to just keep blocking them as I collect the numbers; the gentleman this isn't harassment this is his job so I said fine I do not have to verify who I am and I don't have to talk to anyone :-D

It helps to use technology for the betterment of individuals once in a while,  LOL  :)

these pricks keep calling my house line yet i have no debt

Not sure why this company's calling me, I have no outstanding debt.  I once had a Vreizon charge for not returning internet router (Which never occured to me when I moved??), but this was over 8 years ago.  I actually ended up paying that twice because I wanted it off my record!!

they call all the time and ask for my boyfriend and when I say he's not available, can I please take a message, they say no message, they call at all times, it's annoying

Track their calls, and in my state if they don't quit calling small claims is 1,000.00 for first offense trust me it works!

These (debt collection calls, etc...) are REALLY getn out of control!!  ONLY 4 days after changing my cell fone # (4 another reason) I got a call from this # ... They are OBVIOUSLY a scam- harrassing MANY people... I KNOW they are not calling 4 any specific reason (& are likely "randomly" placing calls --- I believe this to be a FACT for THESE reasons:
#1-as mentioned above, I had just changed my cell # 4 days prior;
#2-MY cell # is in my mom's name (my name isn't associated in any way with the #!!);
#3-Note: some of you may be interested in THIS INFO ... As I found, quite by accident, that the cell fone CARRIER "may" have something to do with HOW your # SHOWS UP (IF searched by certain programs or cell fone apps)... I use cell fone app: "Privacy Star" - a good app!- w/a free trial, & after, is worth the $. Recently, being curious, I searched my own #, WELL, the NAME (on cell acct) actually SHOWED up! Wat I've found wen searching cell #s is MOST will show up as ---"Wireless Caller, + City" ---
So, wen changing my #, I mentioned THIS to my cell "carrier" & guess what? THEY were able to change HOW my # (NAME) would show up (if searched w/such an app) & now, IT WILL NOT show the NAME (as it previously did) & will only show up as:  ---"wireless caller + city"---    (or similar, depending on carrier or where you are?) ... Back to "reasons" ... So, even IF searched, NO NAME is shown! #4-there is NOT a  reason debt collectors would be calling my mom!! This is ridiculous...and out of control! Thanks to ALL who have taken the time to post & give us "consumers" notice of OUR RIGHTS - as it appears we are slowly losing them - 1 by 1 !!
Note: gone are the days when we could have an "unlisted" or private # ... I pay $1/month to my home (land line) phone utility co. to have an "unlisted" #. ("Unlisted" #s today = only NOT to be published in the phone book!!) It IS still discoverable ... ("Privacy Star" App immed found it and showed MY NAME!) Hmmm --- (what's the use?) Comments are welcome, please . . .

Well, just a note to say --- I DID change my # (4 other reasons!) And it DOESN'T MATTER ... WON'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE - (see my previous post!) Appreciate the input - just want others to know, there "may" be a thing or 2 you CAN do --- however, changing your # is NOT going to STOP this $h!t...

i get many calls from this debt collector and i have not tried any means to get them to stop legally but i do wonder why they call so many people and get your number if it was fake? they harass people and want their so called money i get so mnay calls from so called debt collector yet i wonder why they would randomly call people around for no reason. i read all these posts and wonder what is really going on? do people not want to admit they have debt? do the companys scam all people? how would they get a cell number if it was fake? i mean i know you can call any number and have it be some ones number but still. i dont like this company they dotn give up and i like what some people wrote but as all things online any one can post whatever they want and no one can do much about it.

i have to say i really have no clue how some of these debt collectors are getting your info after you change a number and a cell number is not easy to get to i have no clue at all to the person who commented on my post. im sorry you have to deal with these people bothering you. call the police if you really dont like it maybe? talk to them and ask them to send you paper proof that you have some debt to your name. if that dont work than i dont know the police i doubt will do much for you but you can tell them that you changed you number and its getting out of hand. but i ask you people on here do you really have no debt to your name? its strange that they would call for no reason. check them on the BBB better business bureau. but i see many many people have problems with this so called company. i just ignore the number if i dont know who it is from so i dont know what any of you can do.
