- ArianaCall from someone wanting to verify several purchases made on Amazon using my credit card. Since my credit card was compromised yesterday, I answered the call and told them the charges were not authorized. They said they would not be shipping the orders out.
- Caller: Amazon
- ginny| 1 replySeems strange that I got 4 calls from this number this morning right after 6 am on my personal cell phone and 3 calls in the same time frame on my work cell phone. called the number back and the first thing I was asked was to verify my email address. when I asked why amazon would call me 7 times the Indian gentlemen told me oh it must have been a mistake and hung up. Thinking SCAM here

- Pittsburgh MikeThis is a legit number from Amazon,s Fraud department. Someone ordered a gift card from Amazon from my account and the Amazon Fraud people caught it.
- Caller: Amazon Fraud Dept.
- Amazon UserReceived a call from this number 5 minutes after placing $3000 order on Amazon. Lady informed me that my account had been locked because of suspicious activity. Before the phone call was complete I received a email from Amazon stating the same. Account was locked because of suspicious activity. I tried logging into Amazon during phone call and the account was locked. Problem was sorted out within a few hours and my items have been reordered.
- Caller: Amazon Account Specialist
- Isaiah replies to marty| 4 repliesNo I got the same call today they are scammers do not trust them
- Miah(206) 508-4014. Is not amazon. I got a call wanting my address right after I orded something. Once she had my ifno the lady was fast to get off the phone. I google the number and then contacted amazon and ask to varify the number as one oo they're own. They said it was a scam number. Its a scam to steal your info.

- Pam| 1 replyI received three phone calls and he left one voice mail message yesterday, 01/10/17. He said his name was James and asked me if a certain dollar amount was on my Amazon account, was it a valid purchase? He claimed someone purchased a laptop on my credit card ending in xxxx (which he somehow knew those last 4 digits and asked me to verify them, which I did) and that my Amazon account had been involved in a fraudulent transaction. His VM message asked me to pay, what it sounded like $0.65 (hard to understand him with his accent) for him to investigate. Don't get SCAMMED by this. I called my bank and cancelled my Visa and I closed my Amazon account. Buyer Beware of scumbags out there!!!
- Michael replies to PamCan confirm this is a scam. They claim to be amazon at 206-508-4014 and ask for information. As I was suspicious I did not give complete information. I used online chat support with Amazon.com after hanging up on the scammer and they said someone was trying to call them claiming to be me but was not passing the security tests. Do not trust calls from 206-508-4014.
The tough thing to understand is how they manage to get your order number. The consistency across most of these cases is that we all purchased expensive items (laptops mostly?). I'm guessing there is a leak or phisher who has gotten access to third-party payment processing data and they go after big fish. - RealElkGravy replies to yeaandnowI think it may have been the amazon number but not amazon. You can get an app to make it appear like any number you want when you make a call. My friend used to to prank me. I just got a call from that number and he left a message saying to "answer when i call back". When I called back it was actually amazon and they said that she doesn't know why someone would call because my purchase went through fine.
- Suspicious Customer replies to Tony SopranoI agree. I got two of these calls on my answering machine this week. Because it was out of the ordinary (I order quite frequently and have never had these calls before), I contacted Amazon directly through their website (not using the number left on the answering machine). They told me that no one from Amazon had called me and that they DO NOT call to verify online purchases made through a secure account. They advised AGAINST returning the calls as it was likely a SCAM.
- LizaHe knows details about an amazon purchase just minutes ago.
- Caller: Amazon
- Matt replies to Isaiah| 3 repliesI've gotten a call twice from this number, both times verifying if I made a purchase on Amazon because both purchases were high in value. 10 minutes after the call, my order was processed. These people ARE Amazon reps. They asked me if I ordered the items in question. A scammer would not know what I had purchased an hour before, and also the fact that they said they would process my purchase and 10 minutes later my order status has been updated. If you are reading this, don't be worried about being scammed. If you've recently made a purchase, get a call from this number, and they verify your order without you having to tell them what it is, you're fine. Not everything is a scam!
- Matt replies to Tony SopranoPlease don't listen to this person. This number is legitimate. In two days I ordered two $200 eGift cards. The first day, after about two hours of my order stuck on "processing", I received a call from this number. They asked me if I ordered a $200 eGift card. I said yes. They said they would then process the transaction. 5 minutes later, the eGift card was sent to the recipient. The next day, same thing. I placed an order for a $200 eGift card. After about an hr of it processing, I received a call from this number asking if I made an order for a $200 gift card. I said yes. 5 minutes later, the gift card was sent. They are simply calling to confirm that you have made a purchase, that's it. I'm not "in" on the scam. This is a legitimate call from an Amazon rep.
- Sean replies to martyThat was definitely a scam. These A**holes ask you a "yes/no" question to record you saying yes. Then charge your credit cards. I would call your bank and inform them of that call.
- SeanI literally just bought something on Amazon using my work address. I received a call from (206-508-4014) moments later. These people are savages. NEVER ANSWER YOUR PHONES! Let them leave a message.
I just filed a report for this number with Amazon. Not sure how much this will actually accomplish, can't hurt to try. - Sean replies to Hacked ConfirmedI did the same thing today. Purchased a laptop from Amazon, 30 seconds later, this number called. Never answered the call, looked it up on here, and then files a complaint with Amazon customer service. I asked them the same thing about called customers to verify info. They DO NOT.
- RobGot a call from this number claiming to be Amazon and they asked to verify my name and last 4 digits of my card. They had those details correct so I confirmed them. They said they had called about a suspicious purchase with Amazon, and I agreed that it was suspicious. They said they canceled the order, but I should contact my bank. I first called Amazon who told me that they do not make these kind of calls. I then contacted my bank who had smartly been denying fraudulent charges to my card for the last two days! It seems w my stolen card information was sold to multiple parties but one of them stupidly tipped me off! Thanks stupid thieves!
- Caller: Not Amazon
- J| 1 replyJust got a call from "amazon", thick indian accent and got a scam vibe from them. But I didn't give them any information, so I was really confused about what the motive would have been for the scam.
Them: "Is this <my name>?"
Me: "Who is this?"
Them: "This is so-and-so from amazon, wanting to confirm a purchase you made. It was <unintelligible description of an item with the word liposuction in it> for the amount of <some amount I forgot>. Card ended with <last 2 digits of card number that DID match my card>. Do you recognize this purchase?"
Me: "I have no idea what that is."
Them: "We have blocked the order and you should call your bank and make sure your card is secure."
Me: "Okay, bye."
What was the scam? Is it possible it was legit? I checked my amazon account and nothing was in the order history. But they did match my card's last digits, which I did not volunteer. Very confused. But I did call my bank and block & reissue my card, and changed my amazon password, just to be safe.- Caller: 2065084014 "amazon", Washington
- SueDo not give them your contact info. Just got off the phone with the real amazon customer service and they said they will escalate whats going on.
