- matt| 1 replyJust recieved my call 2x times back to back. The second time a message was left that it was amazon calling to verify a recient transaction and needed to check on info. He had the last 4 of my card i use for amazon. Very thick middle eastern accent as everyone else has described. I also have a charge for $1 on the card today. I only use it for amazon payments. I have a feeling this is a leaked info from amazon or a amazon phone app. Time to change the numbers.
- Caller: feeling like a scam.
- ConfidentialIt appears that hackers had penetrated security at CitiCard (btw, one of actually six banks that made it into the news again this week for criminal charges levied against them by the DOJ). Maybe / probably security was also compromised at Amazon as well. It might help us all if corporations like these two ceased shipping U.S. jobs overseas to 3rd world holes. Anyway, the banksters at Citi are already aware of this security breach and have issued their customers new cards. Do NOT call these scammers back that called from 206-508-4014 and do NOT give them any information. This is a phishing scam.
- Caller: "AMAZON"
- Brian ArnoldThis is 100% a scam. I've been in contact with Amazon and they clearly stated that no one would ever call me directly asking about an order.
To quote their email directly: "For your information we wont make outgoing calls. The call you received wasn't from Amazon.ca."
I only received the email AFTER I posted that this was happening.
The "order" was for a rubber watch band from a company called "K Japan Online Shop". There was a charge to my Mastercard for almost $600. Last time I checked a watch band didn't cost that much.- Caller: Amazon?
- CraigS replies to Garry| 6 repliesNo, it is not Amazon. I called Amazon and they said it is not Amazon.
- CraigS replies to amazon customer| 3 repliesThe number listed above on this blog is not Amazon or any Credit Card company. Do not respond to the caller.
- cs248 replies to AbbyThe number listed at the top of this blog is Not Amazon.com or any credit card. Do not respond to calls from this number.
- cs248 replies to MikeAmazon does not call to confirm orders.
- cs248I receive a call from 206-508-4014 he left a voice mail asking me to call them about an Amazon purchase. He stated on the voice mail he was from Amazon and need to confirm a purchase made with Amazon my Master card. He asked that I call 1-877-243-2713 and gave a reference number. I did not call back. I check my Amazon account to see if I could determine what the problem may be. I did not see any problems so I connect with Amazon on their chat line. They stated that the call was not from them and that my account had no problems. They did recommend that I change my password on the account just to be safe. The said they would also investigate the issue. Also Amazon stated that they do not call to confirm purchases.
He called back several hours later but did not leave a voice mail message.- Caller: Amazon (claimed)
- J replies to CraigSLOL, that post was probably made by the same guy running the scam! He must think we're really dumb.
- Mark replies to amazon customerI simply don't believe you.
- BS Detector replies to Amazon userRead through these posts, people! "Amazon user" and "Amazon Buyer" sure sound like they really want you to answer the call. Hmmm, I wonder why that is? Oh wait, it's probably because they're the same ones running the scam. Don't be fooled by these a$$holes!
- Tony Soprano replies to Amazon Buyer| 2 repliesThis person is a liar. Don't believe a word of this. It's all part of the scam.
- ADGot a call from this number found this page, was initially worried contacted Amazon CS they told me only calls from +353 are used by amazon.co.uk are then but told me it may be a maerket place seller based in U.S.A. I was contacted again from this number and he confirmed that he could see i had spoken to Amazon CS regarding the number he was calling from and simply wanted to make sure it was me who made the purchase, and the address it was going to was correct this was simply due to the value of the order he informed me that he would allow the order to be processed, unfortunately because i did not answer the first one my order was delayed by the Market place seller minutes before the phone call.
- Caller: "Amazon.co.uk" (claimed)
- ImelI got a call from this number +1 206 508 4014. Lady with thick accent explained that she was calling from Amazon and someone tried to purchase an item with my card on their own amazon account. Amazon phoned me because the card is linked to my account. She only asked wether I purchased the item, no more. It was not a phishing call.
She cancelled the amazon order and suggested I cancel the card and contact my bank.
I phoned my bank and sure as heck, there were a few unauthorised transactions on the card today. The card was immediately cancelled.
I can't believe the scammers are using this number, as it is only as a result of this call that I was made aware of the fraudulent activity. Had they not called then the fraudulent amazon purchase & others would likely have gone through.- Caller: Amazon
- Steve replies to Garry| 1 replyThanks, Gary. It IS Amazon.
- DBEIt is NOT a scam. I didn't answer the call, but returned it. Sure enough, someone stole my credit card number, had made a bogus $1.00 test charge on Amazon, and was already starting to make purchases elsewhere. My credit card company reversed the charges and cancelled the cards. This isn't the first time this has happened to my family.
If you get a call like this, you don't have to answer or give them any information, but CHECK YOUR CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS FOR WEIRD $1.00 CHARGES! They are test charges that indicate someone has stolen your card number. If the charges go through or you ignore it, the thieves have a green light to use your card number.- Caller: Amazon
- Wayne replies to CraigSYeah I did too. Amazon said that is not Amazon
- JMLReceived a call today like everyone else from woman who "sounded" of middle eastern decent. Asked me to verify a Amazon purchase of $300+. Explained it was NOT me and inquired how she got my phone number I can't remember her answer but I also asked her what cc since I have a few and sure enough it was a match for one of my cards.. Called and went online and did not see any purchasers or authorizations but did cancel my card as a safety precaution.
- Caller: Amazon
- AnonFour of these calls within 4 minutes. Seems to be legit (BUT do not trust me and my statements, they only represent my personal experiences) - Caller identified themselves as Amazon (but in the most shady ass way possible) - I gave them literally nothing, but they were able to give me all the details of an order I had just made. They asked me for nothing, only to verify that I had in fact made the order...
- Caller: Amazon
- Cody WangI got the call from this number right after my credit got fraud and being stolen and purchase bunch of things. I am very suspect that they have something to do with my credit card stolen but I have no approved. They called probably they could not get the money and they hung up right after I told them I called my credit card company. I got text message alert from my credit card company so I called right away to stop the credit card charge. I double they are Amazon. I think someone has to investigate this phone number or this company.
