scam call... $800 dollar phone purchased on my credit card listed with Amazon. When I called the number back it was not in service.

This number called me after a purchase was made for my son using my credit card. They knew the last two digits that was on my card and my name.

Received 2 calls and 1 message from this number claiming to be from Amazon and asking about an order using a credit card # that I don’t use for Amazon orders, so it’s definitely scam, thievery, or at least illegal.

As someone who is a fraud investigator I received a call from this number it was concerning spoke to a friend in the fraud department with Amazon it is a Legit amazon rep making the call he said they outsource some customer service things to overseas companies

You need a new keyboard since your current one doesn't seem to have any punctuation keys.

I got a phone call late. From Washington state area code guy with a heavy accent ask me my name. I told him he had the wrong number and hung up on them. But earlier that day had gotten an email from Netflix asked me to update my contact and payment info. I started to do it, but I felt like it could be a scam. So I stopped. Well, they got the information and after this weird phone call tonight. I checked my account. I had charges from Amazon web from Baghdad from a fake Netflix. So beware and do not answer this phone do not open up a link to update any contact information.

Definitely a scam. Amazon will never call you.

i got a call from this number twice, and listened to the voicemail. I couldn't understand the man. i tried to call the number back and the number is not in service. I am currently talking to Amazon about this.

I just received the same call and the same statement that you were told,  I will be calling amazon right now this is so wrong and going on for years and no one shut these people off or play their game and find them and prosecute any and all involved!!  IT’S DISGUSTING

Got a call from this number and they left a voice message that they we’re calling from amazon, so I called the number back and a recording came on that it was not a working number. I called amazon and they said it was not them calling.

That's weird on so many levels. I called this number several times and they don't answer. Never.
You are probably one of them and want to clean this situation here. So to all people who are here, don't be fooled by this number!!! Never!

I read the comments here and I wish I had come here before taking the call. I don't know how they do it, because I didn't give any information but today I had a fraudulent charge on my card. So DON'T EVEN TAKE THE CALL.

These calls are legitimate. They are an effort by Amazon to combat fraudulent purchases. They called me to verify a gift card purchase, which cleared on my credit card right after the call was over. I didn't need to give them any information, only to confirm that the purchase on my account was authorized.

Agree.  If you placed a huge order for gift cards, expect a call from this number within 5 minutes.  They don't ask personal information; just only to verify the purchase.  If somebody asks for personal info, then somebody might be spoofing the number.

This is 100% a scam and/or phishing attempt.

I don't answer unknown phone calls, so I let it ring. They called a few times before they left a voicemail. It was a woman with a very heavy accent speaking in a rushed tone. I could barely understand what she was saying, but I was able to glean that she was claiming to be from Amazon.

I ended contacting Amazon directly and they told me that they would never call like this. The fake number actually called me a more times in quick succession while I was chatting with Amazon proper, funnily enough.

Do not answer this call and certainly do not give them ANY info. Any of the few comments claiming this is legit are obviously shill accounts trying to trick you into being scammed.
