Had these guys call me 6 times. Have 4 different fraudulent charges on my account. Canceled all my cards and I'm working on the phone with Amazon to get all the charges refunded. 400 dollars in gift cards.

I got a call from this number mere minutes after placing an order for an Amazon e-gift card. The man with a thick accent asked whether I had just placed a gift card order, and he asked me to verify the last four digits of my card, the expiration date, and the amount of the purchase. He said the purchase would be processed, and we hung up. Concerned, I locked the card and called Amazon a few minutes later, and was told it was a scam call. She could not explain how the scammers might have known about my purchase.

Amazon has outsourced their customer service to India.  I have no doubt that those people are either behind these scams or are sending your information out to people who are running these scams.  Everyone in India is a scammer these days  Sadly it is their country's main source of income.

I got a phone call from a gentleman claiming to be from Amazon. He asked me if I made a purchase yesterday and I asked him to tell me what purchase that was and he confirmed what it was and how much it was for. I said yes and then he said thank you and hung up. It just seemed a little strange so I gave Amazon a phone call and they confirmed that it was not from them or from a third party that they hired. That it was a scammer trying to get personal information. They told me to be proactive and change my password.

I just received a call from this number after ordering a substantial Amazon gift card. They called me by my name and said they needed the last two digits of the card number in order for the order to go through. I've just called Amazon and they confirmed it isn't from them.

SCAM SCAM SCAM! I placed a rather expensive order and shortly after, this number called.  I did not answer it but they left a voicemail "Hello, this is Devin calling from Amazon.com. We see that you have placed an order of $1094 on the card ending in **** (exact last 4 digits). Please call me back to verify."

It was an man with a thick Indian voice the left me the voice mail. I first researched the number, saw it could have been a scam and then i contacted Amazon directly. They verified that no one at Amazon was trying to call me. So after I verified, I thought for fun I would call them back and see exactly what they wanted. Not surprisingly, the number was disconnected. Figures.

I will say, I never got the Amazon Order email saying it was placed even though it was indeed ordered. I'm not sure how but I'm thinking they received my email for this order and that's how they knew..??? My husband placed the ordered on his phone which somehow got hacked...I'm not sure. The password was changed and I'm hoping that solved the problem. BE CAREFUL PEOPLE AND DO NOT EVER GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR IMFORAMATION. If it truly is Amazon, they have all the information they need and don't need to ask you for anything further. A way to test is to ask them about one of your orders from weeks/months ago. If it truly is Amazon, they can find it for it. If not, they are scamming your.

Call received from “amazon” by a heavily accented woman trying to verify a gift card I had just sent..couldn’t understand her and didn’t believe Amazon would call

Number 206-508-4014 called repeatedly. Thick accent man sounded like he was talking to me in a bathtub. He claimed he was from Amazon and I hung up and Googled phone number and found this. Cancelled credit card and deleted Amazon app.

Just received a call from this number (Unknown on Caller ID) and no one answered when I picked up. Coincidentally, just purchased an e-gift card right before. At the same time, received a call from 206-922-0880, saying Amazon on Caller ID and this time I did not pick up and they left no message. So strange, because I only picked up the first call because it read Amazon and would have never answered an Unknown call.

I have tried twice to reload my online gift card with fairly large amounts. First time it was auto-canceled by Amazon after 5 hours, password forced to be reset, card removed from profile. Tried again next day with smaller amount, this time got a call from 206-504-4014 three minutes after placing order, then again 5 hours later, exactly one minute before the order was again canceled. Didn't answer either of the calls, no message. I had tried chatting after first cancel, they knew nothing and said they'd send a "form" up the chain. Chatted again after second cancel, this time they asked me to give them a number for a call back, so I gave them a different phone number and received a call from the 206-922-0880, which was a young man in India (pretty obviously) in a VERY crowded and loud room. He had no clue how to help, again said form would be sent to the team. Just tried Twitter to @AmazonHelp and they at least sent me to an Amazon page (for people who arrived via social media - I think the link they provided was personalized) where I could give them details about the orders, etc. I also asked if phone numbers or the process I experienced was legit. We'll see.

Wrong. It’s totally a phishing scam. They want to have your computer.

Got a call from them after ordering gift cards from Amazon. Heavy accent. Called Amazon, was not them. Talked to Robert in the fraud department.

We had the same caller and we reported it to Amazon Security.

Made a large value purchase on Amazon.ca and received a call from this number within 5 minutes.  Caller had a heavy and hard to understand accent.  Caller knew my name and asked to confirm several questions about the specific order such as where it was being shipped.  Caller did not ask for CC info or other billing info.  Called Amazon.ca customer service shortly after.  Agent did not outright confirm or deny that the call was in-fact from or on behalf of Amazon.  My transaction was declined due to an unrelated issue with payment type so if it is a spoofed number/scam, the info they have is not likely useful to them.  If this was a legit call from Amazon.ca they strongly need to consider training staff to introduce themselves properly at the start of a call at a minimum.

I contacted Amazon via the app chat and advised them that someone called from this number asking about verifying things about an order. I gave the number (206-508-4104) and was advised that it was a FRAUD CALL. This is NOT amazon! They are phishing for information.
