Fake Amazon service caller pretends like they can't hear you ask for your name and your email address says I can hear you talking so call us back fake if Amazon called you they know your name and your email address already. Fake.

Not sure why some folks are going on about perverts calling and such. ***This # is Amazon.***  Was having probs one day with a delivery and requested a call back from them.

Spammers have software that allows them to autogenerate numbers on your caller ID.  I get calls or texts from people all the time that I've told them they owe me money or tried to sell them something.  Cricket was no help, but Verizon explained it to my dad now that it keeps happening to him.  They are working on the tech to block this.

This is the Amazon Call Back number when you initiate wanting them to contact you about a problem.  DONT BLOCK IT IF YOU'RE A AMAZON CUSTOMER........AND MAY NEED THEM TO CONTACT YOU IN THE FUTURE

I see what happened. You knew who called you and thought "Gee, I better look this number up even though I know who called me!" Right?
Of course, your statement doesn't take into consideration the fact scammers spoof legitimate phone numbers all the time so just because this was Amazon for you doesn't mean it is for anyone else.

My guess is that now that you have replied to this post, we will suddenly get a whole slew of "it's legit" trolls posting.

Number called, appeared as Amazon on my caller ID, but I answered and was immediately put on hold (they called me, what gives?) as soon as they answer they ask for my name, in which I responded ‘you called me’, again they asked for my name so I hung up. Then they called back and I declined. Then I got a weird text from them which made no sense but again they were trying to get my name. Obviously a scam.

This number keeps calling, it says Amazon customer service on the ID, but the guy is super thick accented and cannot even pronounce our company president's name which is a very simple name. He wants us to upgrade our Amazon account to a business account. I told him I would have to have someone call him back at a direct line. He said we are calling from a call center. He said if I call 866-486-2360 that is Amazon Business and tell them we want to upgrade. So, it is Amazon (I guess) but telemarketers for Amazon. At least in this case.

This is for a FACT Amazon customer service calling people back either about an order or to help with their accounts, not some pervert or strange caller or telemarketer. Treat them with respect. I accidentally hung up on them twice because the number came up as Washington and not Amazon, but that's the carriers doing, not Amazon's.

This number is legitimately used by Amazon customer service. I’ve been called from this number a few times working with me to resolve an issue with Alexa devices.

The bad calls are just spoofing this legit number. I hate that.

Don't think it is amazon.com Customer Service. Last item i order was about 3 months ago. I never contact amazon. So have to be spoof call.

This CallerID can be both legitimate and it can be spoofed... for example:
1. If you contact Amazon Customer Service (via their website) and ask them to call you back, the CLID can show this number and be a legitimate call.
2. If you get a call from this number that you did not initiate with Amazon, I'd suspect it as a spoofed number and not answer.   Scammers aren't dumb.  Correction, some scammers aren't dumb and are trying to trick you into answering the call.
