- madam xJackie Evans. Selling diet pills. Was calling from "out of the area" to get my boss suckered in so she tried to get me, when I said I didnt have my cards with me called at least 10 times within 12 hours on my cellphone and apparently my work as well, then the next day at work from a California number. I got rid of her, for sure when she called work. She's persistant. I'm not giving my credit card info over the phone.
- Concerned Citizen| 1 replyThis company calls and has recorded messages then hangs up while you are waiting to talk. Then when you call the number back a recording says that it is a disconnected number. These SCAM companies need to be prosecuted and lose there License and should not be allowed Telephone use ever again !!!
- Caller: caller ID says ( CALIFORNIA )
- pc boston replies to Concerned CitizenLotta scams coming out of southern california and new york this one seems to call every few months never leaving
a message -- not that it matters since none of them make any sense what-so-ever. The "your computer has a virus
& we can help" is one of the better ones. Never give your name or e-mail address to these clowns. - Dick Fitzwell| 1 replyThis a debt collector. They call constantly from several different numbers both local and not. They've been calling me for a few months now. Not sure how much longer they plan to keep it up but I've got no problem ignoring calls. I get it, it's someones job to sit there and make these calls. Doesn't mean I'm going to answer. I don't know why people complain so much, just don't answer the call or change your number. If you have a smart phone, you can download one of several apps that will automatically block these calls. You can also call your phone service provider and ask them to block specific numbers.
- Call type: Debt collector
- pc boston replies to Dick Fitzwellid as avstar financial offering small business "bridge loans" "Just answer a few questions and we can get started."

- Karen CI received a phone call at 4:57 (EST)this evening from a Maurice Hougum with the telephone number of 213-330-0187. I didn't pay any attention to the caller ID when I answered it. I said hello 3-4 times before he started telling me all the lewd and vulgar things he planned to do to me. I asked him who the hell he was and he told me I know better than to talk like that. I asked him again who he was. His response, "who are you?" I said you called me. And with that, he hung up. I tried calling back and got the number is no longer in service. If one of my kids answered, I think I'd have to fly out to California and castrate him.
- coloradoI got a message saying I need to be served papers and to call this #! WTF
- darenAnswered, reluctantly. the usual short pause after hello...(we know what that means). Then a thick Indian accent person says "This is Windows technical department..." hung up.
- bmomkeep getting calls from this number. I do not answer so they leave a message for a "Linda G Kittrell" stating that "his name is David Wake and he has papers he needs to serve her either at her place of employment or residence. If any questions, she may call 866-948-1086". I do not call back for fear of it being some type of scam. I've blocked other numbers that they call from and leave the same message but, each time I block one, they call from a different number. There have even been times that the caller id shows 00000000000 or 10000000000. It's annoying because they sometimes call up to 3 times a day
- Leary jonesNo problems, yt? hey need to stop calling me.
- 803-260-7410I keep getting calls from this number saying they need yo get where i work or address to where they have some kind of paperwork they need to serve me.Well for one they use my maiden name and I am no longer that name.It is very frausting and annoying!!!!! - anonymousThey called and wanted my credit card number saying they could give me a lower interstate rate. He did not even ask me my name. I played along to see what would happen. I finally told him I knew this was a scam and he told me to f $!* off.

- Shirley FlowersSaid he was from Microsoft and needed to fix my computer.
- GateKeeperThis guy calls every day, but usually from a blocked number. Today, though, he didn't block it.
I don't know who he is or what company he's with, but he calls every day, like clockwork, and asks for out COO. - Mary| 1 replyRecorded message says "This is Jason Foster, I have important paperwork I need you to sign either at your home or place of employment....." Uh, gonna need more info than that, Jason Foster. Added to reject list on my cell phone. This is the second time I've added this guy to the reject list so he calls from different numbers.
- Caller: Jason Foster
- BigA replies to MaryThis is a common ploy by criminals masquerading as debt collectors who are attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your work place, friends, or relatives repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
