these jerks called me and started cussing me out when i said that we r not interested, so i called the fcc they sent me to the no call registry hotline and i get the same thing out of LA and cant call them back so b carefull everyone hopefully they slip up just one time and call the wrong or right person who can get them investigated.

Thank you  so  much for this info.  I too got a call from this number.  WHAT DO THEY WANT!!  JUST DON'T THE PHONE AND REPORT THEM TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION.  THEY SHOULD NOT BE HARASSING PEOPLE.  DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

got a call from a 213-330-0187 saying they were from sheriff's dept and that I had won 3/3  million dollars for paying my bills on time.... called back 4 times before getting the hint that I knew it was a scam... called my local sheriff's office and let them know.....

That is STUPID because they WILL keep calling back NO MATTER what CUTE tricks you try!!

Received a call from this number. I asked for the company name and call back number - the person (of Indian descent) said he was from PC Optimizer and gave the call back number 800-319-6618. He asked if I would check some security items on my computer, he said Microsoft had picked up some viruses and reported it. I was unsure because I do send error reports to Mircrosoft, and I have used PC Optimizer in the past. I started to do the search as the caller asked but gave very little information back. He never accessed my computer. During the call, I went online and typed in PC Optimizer Phone Call - searches came up that this was a scam. I asked the caller if he was trying to sell me something and what was the point of the call - he never gave me a straight answer, but only said we had found viruses. I told him I thought this call was a scam and told him I was hanging up. I did try calling back both the 800# and the 213# - both were busy. I looked the 800# number up online, it is an India cell phone number. The 213# brought me here and to several other places claiming it is a telemarketing number of various types.

Received 3 calls from this number.  I'm on the do not call list, so I don't answer.
Don't know who they are and don't want to know.

We're on the "Do Not Call" list and this company is calling!  We want them to stop calling.

We got a call today on our home phone stating we had "downloaded a malicious file" to our computer.  Thank goodness for this post.

Called several times.
I got frustrated, used a online redial service and called this number for 10 hours.

I received a cal from my daughter in SD with this number showing up on CID.  How can this be stopped?
Normally I don't answer these calls, but for some reason, I did this morning.  Really surprised that somehow she can call using this number.

Just got a call from this number and he said his name was Joe. Joe was definitely on something and made an obscene request..."Would you like to ____ me off?" I hung up and he called back three times (never left a message). The caller ID says "CALIFORNIA 213-330-0187."

They call and I block 'em.

I got a call from this phone number and the guy said he was from Microsoft and that I had over 2,000 Trojans in my computer. Long story short, I am a fool. I got scammed. He wanted to clean it out and set up software to prevent it from happening again. I was so stupid, I gave him my credit card number. I told him it was maxed out and I would have to wait till the end of the month to let him use it to charge this fee $49. on my card. He said he would ask his supervisor and came back and said ok that he would call me on the end of the month. I then called a friend of mine who is a computer whiz,  and he said that I got scammed. He said they have spyware and malware and they get into your system and they put these Trojans in there and then call you and want money to fix them, all under the name of Microsoft Corp. So my friend said to cancel my credit card and get a new one and not to answer the phone again if this number comes up again. I was a fool, and I knew better, but he was sooooo convincing. BEWARE

If not, you must take it in to a local computer shop with your system dics, tell them what happened and pay them to clean it out, or better still to reformat the hard drive and reload the operating system. You must get off the net because installed malware can call home and download more malware. Turn off and park your computer until it can be looked at. Do NOT log in to any internet account until this is fixed (malware can steal login credentials).

I got a legitimate call from a friend on this number.  They were calling on Skype.  Seems like this is just one of the in-roads Skype uses to the US telephone network.  So it could be anyone - telemarketers or friends - who use Skype to reach a regular telephone number.
