I think is was a scam call they said i won free stay at Mariott and cash back because I had stayed there.
I never stay there we stay at the Hilton!!

I got a call that I have stayed in one of their resorts before so I get 75% off and more privilegs on my next stay. I was thrown off since I have never stayed in one of their resorts, let alone any resort. I continued asking them how they know I have stayed in a resort when I knew I didnt. After several times of me questioning them harshly, she hang up the call. It was quite hilarious.

The DNC does not work because 50% of the caller's numbers are spoofed. They can appear to be calling from anywhere. Just like with email SPAM when it comes from a friend, It doesn't necessarily mean they have a virus on their PC, it means their email address is spoofed.

So unless the caller has an established location and is legitimate enough to be traced, the DNC is worthless. Additionally, it's almost impossible for the FTC to enforce this against a foreign scam artists. Any one can buy a U.S. Phone number and use internet telephony so they appear to be calling you from a local phone number.

So beyond keeping the local retailer in check, the real con-artists and scammers are making 99% of the calls or people who are only business for a few months and then operating somewhere else before they get caught.

Report calls like that to the FTC and your local law enforcement. I was given that recommendation and they do follow up and get to the source.

They get paid to harass people with phone calls.  That also spy on whomever they call by telling if a male or female answered, approx age ,any accent, what time they answered, their attitude, description of background sounds etc etc. If it's a land line they figure out what time the place is occupied, a cell gives a tower location.

As soon as the caller said I won FREE tickets. I HUNG UP!

Looks as if these criminals are back "in business."  Actually, I'm amazed that I haven't been called before.  We NEVER answer unknown calls anymore.  No CID and no message.  Now Blocked.

Called the number back.  Busy signal.  Tried two times.  I see it's a scam based on the notes.

Said they were calling from health center for pain. I said I don't have any pain whatsoever and that was it

Did not left a message every time they call. If it's important they should leave at least a short message. It's acscam
