Here's an idea:  Why not call the toll-free number they provide (and, yes, it is toll-free and not $3/minute as one poster claims) and explain who you are and that you are NOT the person who used to have that number--problem solved.

Here's a novel idea: Why don't you call them and find out what they want? They are for real. Just spend as much time doing serious research as you do blathering on these sites and you will learn a few things.

You need to educate yourself and stop assuming things. MSP is NOT run by a US company. It is the Provincial health care plan for BC. OMG, how do you people live in the real world?

So, what led you to Google this phone number and come to this site? I have two theories: 1 – That the calls are a scam and you're involved and trying to trick people into taking the calls seriously; 2 – Well, I don't actually have a theory 2.

Remember everyone: Even if this IS a real Revenue Services phone number Caller ID is easily faked, so you have no way of knowing if that's who is really calling. If you have doubts you should call a known good phone number for this agency (get the number from a government web site – do NOT call a number these callers give you!)

Got a call Jan. 25, 2014 at 8:20 pm from 250-405-4966. There was no voice that spoke, only static. Doubt this is MSP or Revenue Canada. They don't call on a Saturday night.

They keep calling, I just don't answer. I just got this new cell number too!

I have the impression that those explaining that it is a true call from Revenue Canada are a part of the scam, they use this blog to make their calls more credible.   Obviously, those not having realized it is a scam only deserve what happens to them.

Revenue Services BC for outstanding MSP. I haven't been getting MSP invoices for a long time (qualified low income full premium assistance) so I already felt pretty weird about it and wondered how they got hold of my new cell #. Called back and they asked if my name is Andrew (no!) and they say the collection calls should stop within 48 hours. Remember to call back at their Toll Free # to avoid long-d charges.
