- BethMultiple times over the past few days I have received phone calls from 267-851-6441. When I answer, they hang up. I've called back three times and get a recording stating "Thank you for calling. To leave a message please press 1, to leave a fax please press 2" I have left a message advising them I have contacted the local police department and not to call back. I have received 3 calls since.

- Another sucker, I guess replies to Christian MomHow do you go about reporting this scam again? Do you need to contact the FCC or the FBI? I am so tired of these individuals trying to con people out of their money. It's got to stop somewhere. Out of curiosity Christian Mom, how did you find out it was Willow Grove telemarketing? I need to contact my bank now, just to insure that they, (the scammers) don't try to withdraw anything out of my bank. This is infuriating.
- JohnReceived a phone call similar to the ones others have gotten. Caller said that she, was a representative of the federal government, offering grants of 4500 tax free. Offered a government I.D. number, personal I.D. number, etc. Stated that in order for me to receive this so-called grant, I would need to pay a processing fee of $359. She also asked that I give her my banking information. I should have known it was a scam at the time, but offered the information anyway. She asked for a checking account number, but I don't have one. That's when she abruptly said that she wouldn't be able to process it any farther. I am extremely disturbed by these constant internet fraudsters, and now I have to worry about whether or not they will be able to access my savings account. I have to get in touch with my bank the first chance I get. Who else should I get in touch with to see what can be done? I know the "agent" said that she was employed by American Standard Financial based in Philedelphia, Pennsylvania

- Christina replies to Amanda| 3 repliesOMG, I just had the same thing happen to me. I am freaking out right now. I just signed up in the financial aide office at college for government grants and loans ... and I ASSUMED (stupidly) that that was what the call was about. They asked me to verify my information *they read my name, address and phone number* They said that I would be charged a one time fee of $359 processing fee and then the government grant would be deposited into my account. I never gave them my bank routing number, but they KNEW which bank I banked with ... so I donno, FREAKY! I felt REALLY wierd after the call was over. WHy should I PAY for a grant?? SO I called my bank IMMEDIATELY and told them to put a hold on my account and to block that company. So scary! I hope people read this. The number they called me from was (831) 303-2704 and they said their customer service number was (866) 569 2573 ... I don't know if the company is legit or not ... but it seems very shady to me. PLEASE BE CAREFUL ... American Standard Financial is the name that the representative said to be working for. (and EVERYONE I spoke to had a thick accent too)

- Rich from PennsylvaniaHi I got the same phone call, it was very broken English, I could barely understand. She said she was calling from American Standard Financial in Albany, NY and her name was Ken Edwards and then when I transferred over to the voice recording machine I was speaking with a "Kate" who got really bitchy when I tried to ask questions during the recording. And I kept asking her to repeat herself cause I couldn't understand her and she was getting really pissed off.
I am going to the bank today to close my account and open another one, or put a stop on them, or somethin, i have to figure out my options, they are not gettin my money. - report it! replies to Texascall (877) 382.4357 or go to www.ftc.gov to report them to the Federal Trade Comission Responce Center. It take maybe 15 minutes and if we all band together we can take these @sses DOWN!
- Kathy replies to AmandaI had the some thing happen to me. A lady called and said my name had been chosen throught H&R Block to recieve a federal grant. She talked me into giving her my account info. and said I had to pay $359.00 before they could send me the information to fell out. I was then surpose to send it back to them and I would have my money with 48 to 72 hours. I was lucky they didn't get anything from my account before I changed it. Thank you for your information on this.
- DJ| 1 replyI got this same call about a month ago, and I feel stupid to say I fell for it. They took $359.00 out of my account. But as soon as I found out it was a scam, I contacted the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, and my local police department. I made a dumb mistake and now I am trying to do all I can to protect myself. Please report these people. I don't know how much it could help since they're outside the country, but the least we can do is make people aware of this so and the crooks at "ASF" wont get anymore money from us.

- Poor naive college student| 3 repliesThe exact same thing everyone has reported here happened to me. I live in Fr. Lauderdale Florida. A man with an Indian accent called and told me the government wanted to give me $4500.00. He knew all my information and recited it to me. I know you're not supposed to give out your bank account information over the phone, but I wanted to get the money for school. So, I did. I felt okay about it since they gave me verification numbers and a customer service number. $359.00 was taken out of my account, but I never got any money in return. Upon calling the customer service number I was told paperwork would be mailed to me. I just called the other day and they still say that the paperwork will be mailed. I finally did a search for this company "American Standard Financial" and found this page. Now I know I was scammed, sadly. I feel like a [***], but I called my bank and they are going to take care of it. I'm glad this site exists and hopefully it will stop some people from being ripped off in the future!
- JasonI'm about to start college and got a call on July 10th from American Standard Financial saying they were administering government grants and that I'd been selected for a $4,500 grant. I just had to pay a $359 processing fee. Unfortunately, I gave them my debit card information assuming this was financial aid I'd hoped to get for college. Then I checked online and found this was a scam. I immediately called back to cancel the transaction but was given a run around by the company. Then I called my bank and told them not to honor the transaction when it came through. But the bank did honor the transaction. Now I'm trying to straighten this whole mess out with my bank.

- OopsThe moral of the story is to NEVER, EVER give personal financial details in an unsolicited telephone call.
- LaJoun replies to lauraso you never received any money?
- "BIG AL"I also received a phone call from this company. I was to receive $4500.00 or even more after they received a $359.00 payment from my bank account. The phone number they were calling from is (425)-963-7342 which is located in TUKWILA,WA. The woman I talked to was very business like sounding by giving me I.D.#'s and verification #"s also. I really believed this was the real thing. If anyone has received Federal Grant Money from this business please let everyone know what your results were. The name of this company the woman workrs for is called "AMERICAN STANDARD FINANCIAL". After futher investigation I haven't found any information stating this is a real business. The name of the woman I talked to is Jessie John I.D.#199. The woman has a foriegn accent and makes you feel like this is the real thing. I called my bank and cancelled both of my accounts based on what I've found and read on several Web sites. If for any reason your not sure about a business you can type in their phone number in the Web search and read for yourself what I have been learning about this company.
