i just received the same message from Eva Knight and sadly she got me with saying she was deaf and i gave her my address. how do i report this? and should i worry about somebody coming to my door? please help!!!

I got the same exact message from her!!! i gave her all my information and even just deposited her check.  WHAT SHOULD I DO!? AHHHH

I received the same message from an ad on craigslist.  Glad I googled the number (301)....  I was going to respond but decided against it.

I just recieved an email from Janet Cole with the same message. I'm glad I looked up her email address.

Please help!  I have just been scammed by this "Janet" person.  Is there anyway that I can get revenge and get my money back??

"Janet Cole" responded to my Criagslist post for a sofa with the exact same email text as described by all the others. I replied as did John Liles. Thanks John and everyone else.

I received this email today and reported it to Craigs List abuse and also I am going to report it to the Federal Trade Comission.  I knew it was a scam as why would someone agree to buy something that they never can see.  Also, the reason they mention the deaf disability isn't for sympathy but so you won't call them.   Please be careful and I am so grateful that I saw this blog.

Unfortunately, I fell fo rher scam. My bank contacted me today, to say the check was fraud. I got the same exact email as you did. I thought it srange when she sent a check for the movers tot be paid, but because I was so happy to have my TV stand sold didn't think anything more of it. Have contacted my local police departmwnt.
Have learend a lesson the hard way. Will be lots more cautious in the future.

I am currently working with someone on this scam.  They are reporting it to the FBI when I get a contact I will post it for all of you.

Got the same initial email as the rest of the group from "Janet Cole" along with this follow up email.  Smelled fishy and of course, it was after a quick google.

Btw, just curious as to how others have actually lost money from this scam... is there another variation of the scam that requests that money actually be sent??  And I wonder what this "Janet Cole" does with all the info she collects..."

After this period, kindly go to your bank, Withdraw the money after you must have deducted the item cost and an extra $50 which am given to you for your run around on sending the money to my mover via money gram. I saw the email and the message was too good to be true.  Who would give a check without looking at the product?  Then I googled the email and reviewed the posts.  Yep, same scenerio,same verbage.  Good job on posting.  Hopefully no one lost anything to these scammers
