Same thing happened to me last Thursday about 5:46pm CST.  Not one call but TWO within less than a minute of each other.  From TWO DIFFERENT 310 #s!!!!  I was called vulgar names on 2nd call and cursed out and called yet another vulgar name when I called the number back to complain to a "supervisor".  Guess they were pretty steamed I didn't want to fall for the scam!!!!!  I am so glad I read all of your posts, THANK YOU ALL!!!

My daughter got a call on her cell phone and they asked her if she was over 18 - she said no and they hung up. She called them back and they told her that she had to be 18 to be in it and to please disregard the call and then hung up on her.

This number calls me at least once a week, but I have yet to answer. This sounds like an identity theft scam. I don't even HAVE a credit card and there's no way my bank would give out my personal information. Probably some 40 year old man who lives in his mama's basement trying to get your information. Don't answer this number!

    Caffeine Chick
I received a call from 310-370-9794 on my personal cell phone.  I've received many calls from this number over the past few weeks but was at work and didn't have time to answer.  Unfortunately, I answered it this time.  A woman asked for me by name and stated she was calling from a Publishing House in California.  Interesting company name which is very close to Publishers Clearing House - remember Ed McMahon?  I immediately told her that this was my personal cell number and I wanted her to delete my number from their database.  She replied "You want me to call you back in an hour?"  I said no and repeated that I wanted her to delete my personal cell phone number from their database.  She said "OK, I will call you back in an hour."  I'm embarrassed to say that the third time I stated I wanted her to delete my number from their database I screamed it into the phone and hung up.  Time to cut back on the caffeine!  I would recommmend ignoring this call if you get one.  The reverse lookup only showed the number is a Land Line in Redondo Beach, CA in Los Angeles County.

I too received a call from this number while I was watching John Mccains' speech at the RNC in St. Paul, Minn. I told the lady on the other end that this better be good and she said that I had won the Grand Prize of $25,000. She went on to verify my address of 997 St. Anthony Ave, St. Paul MN 55104. When I confirmed my information, she stated that she needed my bank account number to direct deposit my winnings into my account, which I provided to her. She told me that she would call me back as soon as the transaction was complete. About 30 minutes later, She telephoned back and told me to check my account. That is when I discovered that my account had been drained of the last of my retirement money of approximately $10,000. Oh well, lesson learned. I guess I won't answer the next call.

I got a call today.  A woman said I was in some Ohio Publisher's Sweepstakes with prizes of $25,000, A chevy hybrid, Australia vacation, etc.  She knew my home address...but called my college phone number!?  How would they know that?  I don't even have a credit card.  She wanted my age, marital status, job description for 'promotional' reasons.  She told me I'd be getting a gold watch with a diamond in the 12's place for free, 5 magazines, (I didn't want).  Luckily for me, before we could finish, my phone died.  I was curious, came on here...glad the phone died.  If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't.

I missed their call again last night while i was at work.
Does anyone have any idea of how to stop it?
Seriously, i was getting tired of telemarkerters on my home phone, but now on my cell? grrr.

"Publishers Headquarters" with  "Dream Come True" sounds like this is linked to the same company above but have now found a way to mask their calls.  They stated that WE were entered by a major credit card company and when I stated I was skeptical of the offer or sweepstakes they hung up.  Hopefully they will not call back again, but I'm not holding my breath.

Stacy just called from the Publishers Headquarters. I asked what publisher and she stated that it was just called the Publishers Headquarters and that many people thought it was the Publishers Clearinghouse. She said that she got my name and number from a group of natiional banks and credit card companies. I told her that I didn't have a credit card or a bank and that she was calling me on a City of Seattle owned cell phone (I'm at work). She stated that she just knows that that's how they get the number and she wanted to verify my address for a drawing where I could win $25,000 or a Chevy Blazer. My address is a PO Box and they got it right. I'm going to let the Post Office and the Wa. State Attorney General's office know and give them the phone number of the Publisher's Headquarters and hope that they take action.

Keep receiving calls from this number, no messages. I am on the DNC list for both home and phone. I don't have any credit cards so they couldn't have gotten my information from them.
