I do believe that is illegal to pose as a different company especially being a debt collector you should file a claim under the FTC under violating Federal Collection laws. They are to verify who they are and the purpose of their call and inform you that the call is to collect on a debt. Not list themselves under a plumbing company.

It's amazing they inform you that your call is being recorded by an automated system that you can't refuse but they refuse you recording them.

Called left no message

Caller ID says something mg plumbing but they asked fory ssn. I told them excuse me who are you??? and they wanted me to give my SSN...I then asked him again he wouldn't tell me who he was and said he will call back again?????

I have set up a payment  agreement with them. And they keep calling me even though I have been paying them every month. I called them back at the number that is in the latter. They told me it’s by mistake. I don’t  Believe that. I feel they just want to make sure you don’t forget to pay. They send you a payment remember in the mail.

The reverse phone look up says that it's a Fraud Debt Collector. I don't answer my phone with numbers I don't know. They call my landline and my cell. I have a blocking app on my cell. They have called me 10 times back to back in one day. They never leave a message. They call almost every other day this same way. I have filed complaints with the FTC.

I constantly receive calls from the organization associated with this number, along with other numbers.  They never leave a message and they all at all times of the day.

Confusing...if this is a debt collector they’re calling a wrong number. I don’t have any delinquent accounts. Block block block

I know these clowns all too well. They have been harassing me for years. I've even received phone calls from them at 3:00 am. This debt is "older than the hills", and unfortunately I spoke to them after I had filed for bankruptcy, agreeing that I did owe the amount to the (original creditor), but by no means what they were asking for. Anyway, fast forward a billion years, and these so "zombie Collectors", as someone so eloquently named them, are hounding me at all hours of the day and night (from dozens of numbers), even bumping up the frequency of their calls. You would think by now someone would have shut them down, since they obviously don't care to follow established law. If I had the money to hire a lawyer, and take them out of business I would love to do it. I think a "class-action lawsuit", that would pay back all the people they've harassed over the years would be the perfect storm they deserve. A petition to abolish them, and the likes of their type, would be another great form of justice against them.

"If I had the money".  As I previously posted, you don't need money to hire a lawyer for an FDCPA lawsuit.  You have been putting up with this for years?  If you had declared bankruptcy and your debts were discharged, that first phone call was illegal.  You should have immediately told them to contact your bankruptcy attorney.  So, you can sit on your duff and do nothing, or you can take the time to read my post on the first page and use the link to find out what to do to make this stop permanently.  Your choice.

This number came up as MGA PLUMBING on Hiya (the app that I have on my phone to screen calls & block unwanted numbers).

I recognized the number as one of Portfolio Recoverys, so it is now blocked under my carrier and my app. I think they have ways of making it look like they are calling from numbers that they don't own, which I believe is illegal. If not, it should be!

Latest incarnation of Portfolio Recovery's number spoofing. I can't believe somebody hasn't wiped these scumbags off the face of the earth yet. Zombie debt collectors are the worst scum.

This is twice now that I've seen you responding rudely to people who aren't clamoring over that link you posted a month or so ago. Someone people aren't going to read a whole page, and your post isn't very prominent. I'll tell you right now, the only reason I read this ENTIRE post is because I'm at work, and had 17 minutes left when I started reading. I'm also not going click your link, because I'm quite familiar with what to do.

Debt Collector calling on a debt my ex-husband (now deceased over 10 years) had from over 25 years ago - really - good luck collecting from the grave - How rude!
