I mess with them before blocking them, I answer in differ accents, old man or old woman foul language, I tell them “Ehhh, what? Can’t hear u, speak louder sonny boy” It pisses them off. I even left a crude message by pranking them. It’s gets old but, it’s fun. I never tell them or confirmed to them who I am also.

I was told by an attorney that you only need to confirm who you are and this will re-age the debt. Best solution is to not accept any calls you do not recognize. You can always call back if it is legit.

There is absolutely no real attorney that would say that, but on the chance that one actually did, I would look to see if it really is an attorney.  Spreading rumors and lies does not help you look legitimate.

If a company has a legitimate reason to contact you, than they should leave a message. My phone doesn't ring unless you are listed in the contacts list.  so no message, don't expect to ever talk to me.
if an item has been aged beyond statute of limitations it can be reset if you agree to a payment plan and then default to the new agreement.  an attorney may have been concerned that answering a few questions will give them enough to manipulate the recording to show you have agreed to a new payment plan.

When I entered that number in my computer it came up as the number of a plumbing company. That cannot be legal.

Be very careful, though, if you speak to them. I've read that if you even say you'll make a payment or anything that can be construed as agreeing to make a payment, they can technically use that to restart the clock as well.

Caller ID states 'MGA Plumbing' but is actually Portfolio Recovery. Not sure why they are calling me but I owe nothing to anyone (With the exception of my paycheck to my wife). They don't listen to who I am and don't believe me. Tough for them and luckily I am stacking up my recording of them accusing, lying to me and defaming a legitimate company in Chicago.

Why are you "stacking up my recording"?  You will not get paid per phone call, contrary to popular belief.  Also, you need to attempt to mitigate damages, which you have not properly done.  Further, are those recordings legal?  If you are in a two party state and did not tell them that you are recording them, the recordings will be inadmissible in court.  I see that a permanent solution to your problem has been posted in this thread.  Maybe you should take the time to read it and do things properly?

So, if this is a legit business trying to collect a past due debt, why are they not leaving messages for anyone? This just makes me think that they have poor business practices.
