Zombie debt collector, says they're calling on behalf of Capital One to collect a debt on a card I paid off and cut up 10 years ago.

These scum bags constantly call my husband all hours of the day!  He works nights so he sleeps during the day. They refuse to listen to the fact that he is not who they are calling about. I keep telling him to block them. They are the worst of the worst!

These people call at all hours, and even on Sundays. Never leave a message,never send anything in the mail either. If they do I’ll have an attorney evaluate it. He said to never speak to them by phone and forward any mailings to him.

These scammers have been bothering me for OVER 20 YEARS! I paid my debt, YEARS AGO, I even GAVE them THE PROOF, yet they STILL CONSTANTLY CALL. Damn

That’s the same number calling & harassing me in the morning & even on Sunday, they have got to go.

Called them...gave them my phone number they called and my name. They asked if any other name was associated with this number. Told them no. They're taking the number and my name off their list. Sometimes if you call, you will find that they weren't after you.

Portfolio Recovery. They have multiple numbers that they will call from. Just block them as they come in. These people are sharks with no morals whatsoever.

BigA, All calls to my number are answered by a machine that states 'All Calls will be recorded for quality Assurance' . As for 'Stacking up my recording'? I think my phone auto corrected whatever I was trying to say there. (Don't remember). I'm sure a corporation like IBM has looked into the legalities of recording calls etc however and they will continue to do it. That being said they just called again at 6:30 in the morning. This time before I got to work!

I can see that you completely missed the point of the post and did not understand one word of it.  Good luck because you are going to need it.

They said I owe a gas utility bill in Ohio.  So I told them that I left Ohio in 2008 and it is not mine. I have been in DC and now just moved to Virginia. They insisted it was my bill and the bill is over $300.00 but they would take $108.00 if I transfer the funds to them today.  They told me that if I dont pay the bill it will affect my credit score.  At that point I felt great, and said please go ahead and send it.  I know that a ten year old bill will not affect my credit report.  I watch my credit report and have excellent credit from all three bureaus.  If it does go to my credit report, I will challenge it because credit on the report is for seven years.  A good credit collection agency would know that so I think this made up.

They call every day.  Sometimes a woman with a strong asian accent will leave a message to call, otherwise no message left.

I receive calls and hang up...no message...My phone charges me for each message...They call sometimes 3-4 times per day. AGGRAVATING!!!

Harrasing bill collectors

I am glad to see that someone is harassing bill collectors instead of the other way around.

Called my cell phone & didn't leave a message. I've blocked their number as a result of reading the experience of others here.
