I got a call from this number today.  My warranty will not expire for over a year.  I pressed one to speak to a person and told them I wanted to be on their do not call list.  The response was that I was hung up on.

Putting them on speaker is cool! When I get these calls I push speaker plus mute and they will actually sit there saying "hello" over and over again. IDIOTS! Why doesn't *67 or 1167 work anymore?!?

I received a call from 1-321-504-7429 today. They wanted me to renew my warranty on my car. I told them that I had just gone out today and gotten a new car with a factory warranty on it and I had also purchased the extended warranty on it. They just hung up on me. Truthfully, I think this these are just scumbugs working for a dishonest company of crooks. Don't fall for this!!!
I have gotten calls from 1-201-221-3014 (Auto Warranty) and 1-240-210-7138 (ext warranty) showed up on the caller ID. One of these, I believe, is from Las Vegas, Nevada.  I have also gotten these in the mail several times.
One of these is almost impossible to delete from your answering machine. If you push 1 for more information, or in my case to chew them out, you go back to a recording. If you push 2 it goes back to the original recording, then they keep bugging you.

Received the same phone call - automated message says that your warranty is about to expire, and then if you press to speak to someone and ask to be taken off their call list they hang up on you.  This was my first received phone call from this number, hopefully it will be my last?

I received a phone call from this number.  I pushed 1 to speak with someone and when I told her that I wanted to be removed from their list she hung up in my face...I tried calling the number back and it said the number was disconnected...just weird, but I will get to the bottom of this and have these people reported!

It was the same for me.  After pushing 1, the operator promptly disconnected me when I said I wanted to be removed from their caller list.  If you try calling the number back, you'll get a message that the number has been disconnected.

I wouldn't be too quick to condemn Mr. MacAulay (or his address).  Call centers using their own trunk lines and especially internet phone customers somehow have the ability to put whatever they want in the caller ID name and number -- including nothing.    I don't know how they do it, but apparently it's not that difficult.  I think this number was probably stolen or just made up and is being inserted by whomever the real caller is.  The fact that calling the number back results in a "number no longer in service" message would sort of confirm that along with identical calls coming from different numbers.  The "press 1 to lower your interest rate calls" and the auto warranty calls SEEM to be coming from the same bunch of pseudo fraudsters and they do not seem to have any information on either the credit cards or autos owned by those they call -- they are just making massive blind calls and trying to get that information from whomever answers the phone.  It seems to me the solution would be for the phone companies to enhance their technology and tighten their customer acceptance criteria in order to prevent telemarketing calls with no caller ID or bogus caller ID information from going through the phone system and at least make it easier for law enforcement to track the jerks down.  I talked to my phone company about this and was told they were considering upgrading equipment to prevent this sort of thing in the future but couldn't do it at this time.  If it were my choice, I would much rather have phone number integrity and privacy rather than phone number portability and I think we've spent a bunch of money on portability -- at least they charge me for it every month.    Maybe there needs to be some government prodding to move the phone companies along.    Actually, I like the duct tape and baseball bat approach mentioned by a poster above; but, how do you find the guilty in order to deliver the justice?

The DNC(Do Not Call) list is just another smoke & mirrors, useless law from our corrupt elected officials. Maybe everyone should forward their phones for a day to their state and federal representatives. Maybe something would get done then! The prosecution rate of violators by state & federal authorities, which is less then 1% of the complaints, is just additional proof of the scam played on the people.

They've been calling me numerous times during hours that I am away at work.  I have tried calling the number back and always get "Your call cannot be completed as dialed". I Googled National Auto Warranty and found this:   If you are trying to contact National Auto Warranty Service, Inc. regarding its telemarketing practices or an extended warranty purchased from that company, please use the following contact information below:

    National Auto Warranty Service, Inc.
    100 Mall Parkway
    Wentzville, Missouri, 63385
    U.S.A.

800-649-1856 is the number listed, which I called and of course they are only open 8-5 M-F at that number.

    Called me today.

    Caller ID said "COCOA, FL."

I connected, got a person, he asked the make and model of my car (I don't own a car) and I asked, "Why?" Then he hung up.

Yup I've gotten this car warranty about to expire call as well. The first time I couldn't find out.  Today I connected and said "I don't know what car you're talking about and they hung up."  I called back and it says the number is disconnected.  REPORT THEM TO THE FTC.

Oh, and yes, the DNC Registry USED to work.  But there's a loop hole.  Non-profits can call and do ALL the time.  Most give majority of $ to fund raising company.  A RUSE.  I used to pick up/hang up.  Now I answer and say do not call me, take me off your list.

Got a call from this number just now.  Pressed '1' to speak to a person, and then when I asked who they were, they hung up on me.  I called back but somehow I get a message saying disconnected.  You know, I'd like to know who they are, but of course on the web you have to give someone $15 or so to really find out any useful information.  I think what I'm going to do is keep a whistle by the phone...that ought to do it. PS for me, this wasn't about car warranties - they said would I liek to get a lower rate on my current credit card...some BS like that.
