Car Warranty Specialist alert! Hah!  From Cocoa, Fl. A recording first. I knew it was not legit. I pressed one to find out a name after being directed. The fellow who came on the line says, " What is your make and model," I then ask, "First, tell me who I am talking to and who you represent." He hung up on me. Hmm...It's a  farce!

Yes, I got the call that "Your warrantee is about to expire.  Press 1 to talk to an agent."  The agent asked me the make, model and year of my car.  I purchased my Honda in Dec 2007.  I asked him if he was from Honda and he said he was the "Honda agent."  I financed my new car and, as part of the finance fee, I'm paying is for the warrantee until 100,000 miles.  I told him I have 5,000 miles on the car and he said, "oh there is some error, you have coverage until 36,000 miles."  I said "no I have coverage until 100,000 miles; can you please confirm?  Then he hung up on me!  I think this is some scam to get people to buy some kind of warrantee program if their warrantees have expired.

I just received this call as well.  I pressed "1" and was transferred to a male party on the other end.  he asked for make and model.  When I didn't give it to him and just said don't call anymore,  He told me to "shut the [***] up" and then hung up. I did get to call him an [***] though before i heard the "click."

I pressed 1 also and got a male who asked for my make and model. I said I wanted my number removed from their list and he responded with "oh" and hung up. Jerk.

Computer report that says my warranty is about to expire.  They even got my cell phone number.  When asked about what car and why they keep calling my two numbers, he hung up.

Hopefully no one falls for this scam.  When you answer a pre-recorded message says your car warranty is about to expire.  In my case, the warranties on both cars expired years ago!  I usually just hang up, I've never pressed 1 to talk to someone.  Doesn't sound like that would do much good, though.

The next time you get a call from these scammers, ask them why they need the make and model, because if they know the warranty's expiring, they should already know everything about the vehicle.

I just received a call from these scamers today (4:30 pm on a Monday).  We have been receiving several mysterious mailers saying our vehicle warranty is about to expire, but not, of course from the manufacturer. I pressed 1 to speak with the representative and after several rings was finally connected and asked for my vehicle make and model, and other information.  I cut her off and asked her why she was calling me if my number was registered on the National Do Not Call Registry?  She promptly hung up.  I used *69 and the number is disconnected.  I will have my phone company block the number from calling.  It's free, and if they call from a different number, then I'll block that one too I guess!
