Why can't the FTC shut these clowns down?

Got a call today from this number. I'm also on the DO NOT CALL list. The message said initially that it was my credit card company and to press "9" which I did, but the call immediately hung up. I called it back and it hung up. Obviously, they're scamming folks, and need to be stopped. Somebody suggested the FTC shut them down. Hope they will.

I pressed "9" and waited for a live person, and the first thing I said to her was "What is the name and address of your company?"  She immediately hung up.

I have asked to be removed from your calling list over three weeks ago and the calls have started again.  I wish to be removed and spoke to someone that told me my number would be removed in 72 hours.  I received this call again today and the person told me it would be gone in 72 hours.  The person was more interested in why I did not want to save money on my cards.  I don't have cards...don't use them.  Please help remove me.

My caller said his name was Shawn. When I asked what Credit Cards they have on file for me he hung up. The id said it was a wireless caller.

I have had 347-263-2551 call here for several weeks.  They just called and when I said I dodn't want to be in their pogram he hung up on me.

I wish someone would pull the plug on these folks.

These people (mostly Rachel) have been calling me for over a year now and when I report i to the DNCnocall obviously don't do anything. Sometime they don't call for 2 weeks and then I get calls sometimes two or three! per day. I've been advised that all of these calls are coming from out of the country. They get a batch of numbers and can call you from outside, I don't know how. Some have very good English and some don't. You tell them you are on nocall and they hang up, and then they will keep calling you. I've played with them a lot. One woman said What is the nocall list? Told her it was a US govt program, and she said Well can they get you better interest than we can? She was serious. She didn't know. It's just like the Nigerian email scams. I've been getting those for over 10 years. Oooh I have an inheritance coming or You have won the UK lottery and on and on. Used to report them to the FTC and they never did anything about it.

THIS CALL CAME IN DIFFERENTLY, FIRST TIME. ON MY CALLER ID THE NUMBER WAS PRECEDED BY 11. That is defininatly coming from outside the country. WHAT GOOD IS THE NO CALL LIST WHEN WE GET THESE CALLS REPEATEDLY?????

Just received the same call but did not answer it. No message left.  Also on the no call list. It seems we are just stuck with the annoyance of the calls. It showed up as a wireless caller..

Got this call and tracked it. Second time I've gotten one these calls.  On the list too. Thinking of harassing them back.

I have received several calls from persons saying they are card member services offering 6.9 interest rate.  When I tell them I pay card in full they say ok and hang up.  The number today was 347-263-2551---I also asked them to take me off their list.  I don't think that will happen.

I find if I answer the call with your  (insert State name) State Troopers Barracks, how may I direct your call?
They ask me to repeat who they reached and then say Sorry I will remove you number.
Works every time
Also my answering machine says,"If your selling something, asking for donations or taking a survey,  hang up now. If I don't recognize the number, you will never get me on the phone." Friends and family leave a message after the tone.

tired of getting these calls, it is getting old. blocking the numbers doesnt help they just call from a new one a few days later.

Recd call.. I am also on the do not call list... I too do not have credit cards...I told them I was on the do not call list and to remove me and I hung up.. I called and filed a complaint with the national do not call list...

OMG.  They called my business line.  I clicked to connect with someone to tell them to please remove my number.  The lady asked if I wanted to take advantage of their offer and I said, "No.  I am asking you not to call my number as it is my business line. "  "F--- you." and click was her response.  I am so flabbergasted.  I can't even call them back because it disconnects when I try to call back

I,too, have been inundated with these scam phone calls and get rid of them. If you say don't call again or ask who they are, all you get is filthy language or they hang up with no recourse to defend yourself. I'm sick of it and who is selling our numbers to them

I received a call from this number and am unlisted and have been for several years. The DNC list is a joke.

Got a call wanting to reduce rate down to 6 percent. It is the 5th time I have gotten a call from this number. It's turning into harassment. I pressed 0 to get a live operator or person and told them I was gonna have the call traced and have them found and arrested and it shut him up.
