They keep calling me saying they can lower my interest rate by 6.9%.  Her name is Rachel from "Cardholder Services".  Today they called on a SUNDAY! Telephone number came up as 000-000-0000 I told them to stop calling me and if they don't, I will call my Attorney General's Office.  So if this company is reading this, I WILL take action. THIS IS A SCAM!!

I tried to call back the number on my display redial got a busy signal two times.  I have a business associate that has a cell phone w/the 347 area code so I checked.  I am putting a block on this number based on the previous comments I read here.  My caller id said that it was a wireless caller.

This number showed on caller id as a wireless caller, but the recorded message is from "Cardholder Services."  No identifying information was given as to what card is being referenced.  Female voice started to assure me that my account was not in trouble and I should NOT call my credit card company, but needed info so that I could lock in the lowest possible interest rate.  Having read about such phone scams I just hung up before the rapid-fire monologue was finished. Like a good little do-bee, I will report them in violation of the "do not call" list, as if our govt actually does something about phone scammers. But I also put them on this excellent function I have with AT&T.  If they call again, they will be automatically forwarded to another number. The number to which these calls are forwarded is the number of a particularly aggressive telemarketing company that is on my nearly full "blocked call" list. Let them talk to each other, and leave me alone.

People -- Be alert to the fact that there are businesses which make a living by (1) buying blocks of phone numbers (local access numbers) in one or more locales in the US, and (2) selling the use of these numbers to anyone willing to pay for occasional (per call) or dedicated use. You can see by all these reports that no firm, clear view of the caller can be made --  could be a collection agency, some outfit hired by such an agency to call using unknown numbers or CIDs, a thief calling to see if you are at home (they could live across the street, calling via VoIP on their computer (apparently from a state 800 miles away), a disgruntled ex-girldfriend or boyfried dedicated to plaguing you, a looney afflicted with obsessive-compulsive disorder relieving their anxieties, a child calling to see if you have Prince Albert in a can (let him out, ha ha), a sickoo of the type that get their kicks from creating computer viruses, hacking sites, etc.
If you don't want to be bothered, get caller ID and always check the caller. If you don't recognize the number, don't answer it. You'll get something in the mail if its something important.

Add to above: The reason you get so many crazy responses if you call them back is because a few nut-cases are hired to answer calls to the number and make up stories and insult and swear at you; they then inform their "client" that you finally responded to the call.

this number keeps calling my house. I never answer, but am VERY tired of it. After reading these other complaints, I'm glad I didn't answer, because I would have told these [***] where to shove it. STOP THEM.

When the phone rings and I answer no one responds, this is very irritable.
I think if anyone calls my number and I take the time to answer, the least
they can do is say something if nothing but "I'm sorry I have the wrong number."
This makes me very angry especially this time of the day, (dinner time)

Just got one of these myself this AM.

I didn't call them back but supposedly it is from a "wireless caller" based on caller ID and what the reverse phone look up at whitepages.com says. The latter tries to peg them to NY, NY.

Thankfully I checked Google and found this page.

How can these people be allowed to operate after such incessant and blatant abuse of the Do Not Call list?  People/companies like that have abused their phone privileges for the next 100 years, I say put them on a "never to have phone service again" list.

My son answered it yesterday night, so he pushed the button to tell them to remove us from the call lists and the guy cussed my son out using the F word.. (which he gave right back to him of course)

These are some nasty people.. and I will be filing a report on them regardless because of the foul language..   I'm just glad my son is adult rather then a small child.

I've had the same problems as all the people posting.  So try a different tactic.  Take option 9 and get a real person on the line.  Give them the answers they want, lots of dept, high interest rates, and keep them on the line as long as possible.  On today's call I told the caller I had to boot my computer to get my statements which I receive on-line.  I claimed I was having boot problems, and kept her on the line for over 20 minutes while I "tried" to get the info she wanted.  Heh, Heh!

I figure I did someone a favor by keeping one of their agents out of play.  If we would all do this perhaps we could raise their cost of doing business so much that they would go bankrupt.  Unlikely, but it was fun!  I feel like I got even for all the interruptions from them.

This is a well-known credit card scam. They ask for your SSN and account number, and then they rob you blind. I've complained about them to the FCC several times, but whatever measures the FCC is taking (which is really only a token) apparently isn't enough.

Since they keep doing it, they must be finding enough suckers to make it worth their while, but I guess the current administration in Washington must not see anything wrong with scam artists. Professional courtesy.

I think you must be working for this scam. This is a well-known credit card scam. You want people to think it will get them on the air, which most Americans would just love. You want them to answer the phone, so your accomplices can rope them in.

    just so mad
I can't say how many time's I have asked them to stop calling me.
They will hang up on you when asked to stop calling.

And DON'T call them from another number to ask them to stop calling ,
because they will start calling that number too.

I know we had laws against this behavior , but nothing is ever done .
This company CARD MEMBER SERVICES , have been calling my house
