Received call from foreign sounding man. Wanted bank info re social securioty card.  What a scam.  Reported him to authorities.

The called to confirm I wanted our listings to be removed from yellowbook. They asked if I requested it be cancelled. I said I didn't request it be cancelled.

Was then told, "So you want to continue the listing for another 2 years. Is this correct?"

I said, "No, I need more information" and then I realized they had hung up.

I called back but got a busy signal. I called it again twice, and each of those times I got a message that my call couldn't go through as dialed. Then I went online & found this site.

Ok, dude called wanting to speak to an "office manager" so when I politely told him there was no one available to speak with him he just hung up on my, which is a huge peeve of mine!  I called the number back, thanks to caller ID and it tells me the number is disconnected.  How can I get a call from a number that's disconnected? This really ticks me off!  Someone should really invent Caller IQ instead of Caller ID!

Same as above with the yellow pages.  I didn't catch on at first, because I did cancel our listing in the yellow pages awhile back but they said that it was in there for the year and wouldn't run the following year.  I thought they were just confriming that we wouldn't be in the 2012 edition.  It wasn't until I was transferred to the american speaking woman that she said something about the online listing.  That is what clued me in.  We never did an online listing.  She said I signed up 2 years ago and the first year was free.  Now I need to cancel and pay for the second year.  I said I never signed up and asked why I wasn't billed at the beginning of the second year (why would they give me a service/listing for a year and bill me after the fact?)  Suddenly the line went dead.  A few minutes later the indian guy called back and told me I didn't receive my confirmation number for cancelling and completely butchered my name.  I told him no one by that name was here and I had no idea what he was talking about and he hung up.

Got a call from 347-418-0489.They called me 7  times total and most were while i was already on the other line with them.Spoke to the !st operator or more like tried to figure out what she was saying.Hear alot of noise then suddenly a slightly more understandable Indian came on and told me the same BS as below but wanted me to lie to Quality Control and say i was JoAnn Smilth at PO BOX 443.They placed me on hold for quality control and while i was on hold waiting to rim someone they called in on my 2nd line.I am a patient woman but i broke lose on the same guy on line 2 that placed me on hold on line 1.He proceed to say Holy [***](excuse my language) and hung up.

This company called me and said something about the yellow pages. They insisted that they had documentation of me agreeing to let them list me for free for one year, followed by a second year at $499.00. They they INSISTED that if I wanted to cancel, then I had to stay on hold and talk to Quality Control, but not to ask them any questions or they would hang up on me and I would be billed. If you do this, they will put you on hold FOREVER before the only English speaking person around (bc they're in India, though they claim its Reno, NV) will ask a bunch of questions about the bill, and ask for your name and address. They told me they are located in NY.NY my ass.They sounded like they were in India.

Got a call from 347-418-0489. "Vincent" called me 17 times total.  He called and said something about the "yellow pages local directory.com" subscription. He insisted that they had documentation of me agreeing to let them list my business for free for one year, followed by a second year at $499.00. Then he INSISTED that if I wanted to cancel, I had to stay on hold and talk to Quality Control, but not to ask them any questions or they would hang up on me and I would be billed for $3000.00.

If you do this, they will put you on hold FOREVER before the only English speaking person around (bc i sucpect Vincent was in India, though they claim its Reno, NV with a NY number) will ask a bunch of questions about the bill, and ask for your name and address. They told me they are located in NY. Quality control wanted me to be recorded saying that i would accept the final invoice for $499.98.  When i finally told them that i would like to see something in the mail, they hung up.

Then "Vincent" called back continuously to cuss out my receptionist with vulgar language.  The phone calls stopped after she told him that the phone conversaton was being recorded from her I-Phone recorder.  

I have since called my phone service provider to place a block on the phone number.  Please, call your attorney general  (http://www.naag.org/current-attorneys-general.php) and file a claim so they can prosecute this individual for scamming and harrassing people and businesses with this nonesense.

They have called my land phone twice today.  The phone registers as a New York call. Thanks for this web site.

I received a call from this number today.  As with all numbers I do not recognize, I did not answer and went straight to Google to check it out online.  I don't know which scam they planned to run.  It could have been the Yellow Pages scam, but this is my home number and I don't own a business, unless they were going to try to do it concerning my employer, which would beg the question, how would they have been able to associate my home number with my employer?

Or more likely, I have my elderly father living with me, so I suspect that it was the Medicare scam.  Again, his name is not associated with my home phone and he uses his cellphone number on any form which he fills out, so how would someone be calling here with that association?

Next time they call (since I'm sure they will) I will answer now that I know what I'm dealing with.  I'll also try to record the call.

The first call I posted was at 4:26 p.m.  I just received the second call at 6:18.  A woman who sounded Indian who spoke English very well.  She said she was calling about my medical card to go with my Medicare.  I acted super excited and then she acted excited as well.  Then I told her that I was thrilled that I was on Medicare seeing as I'm 29.  She apparently was smart enough to know that someone who is 29 would not be on Medicare, so she apologized and said bye.

A man with an heavy accent (Indian?) called my business.  Said they wanted to confirm that I wanted to cancel my yellow pages ad.  I said which yellow pages ad?  What's the name of your corporate parent?  he laughed and hung up.

ATTENTION:  FRAUD ALERT!

7/12/11 received a call from this number demanding payment for yellow pages advertising supposedly signed up for in 2009.  We have never in our history used Yellow Pages advertising of any form.  When told this the male caller "Care" said he was going to charge our account $499 for the outstanding balance on the alledged contract.  When asked to provide the name of his company and a telephone number he provided 307-444-4053 while the caller ID on my phone showed 347-418-0489.

A fake collection call.  This person asked if I wanted my yellow pages cancelled.  I told her I did not have any yellow pages entry to cancel.  She said I owed money for my ad and they would keep adding interest and fees until I paid it and asked for a payment.  I told her to kiss of and that she was a scam at which time she hung up.  These folks should be hung from the nearest light pole.

Got A call from this number, but I dont answer outside my area phone numbers. I look them up here and have A good laugh.   :)
Always glad I dont answer.....If its important they will leave a message, This one did not! Wonder why?
F-ing scammers

These people call us at least three times a week.  I clearly do NOT use words such as "yes' since we have been recorded doing so and then sent invoices for services.  Today I was firmly told the woman that the number she was calling from was coming up online as a scam and she merely said "yes, well you still have this invoice...,. etc. etc."  I am fed up with this!  Our business number is supposed to be on a "no call" list and yet we get this same call over and over!

some guy named JEROME (sounds like a chinese accent) calls for the same thing... yellow pages scam same process as to the above transferring to 1 english speaking person that wants as much info as possible claims we owe 499.00 gave false contact number 1-800-375-9566 and hung up when we told him that was a fake number. has been calling for months... its incredible....

Got a call from this person today at my work and when I asked for the "confirmation" cancellation number I was told to go and f*** myself.  Glad to know that this is a scam.  Thanks for the input.

I received the same call that various people are reporting from this number.  Caller says that I owe $499 for to Yellow Book which I have not ordered or signed up for.  Person said that the account had to be cancelled which my son did but supposedly I still owe $499.  I tried to call the number back and only get a busy signal.  My conclusion is that this must be a scam and I am worried about what the scamers will do with any information.  My son did not give out any information that they did not already have.

received call from this number and got someone claiming that the previous owner to the phone number that we have, has agreed to cancel and that I have to approve this for them.  When I told him that I was not with this "other" company, the rep told me to "just listen to him" and would not let me speak.  Told me that I have to agree to cancel the "other" company's listing.  When placed into the Q/C rep, told him that I was not in any authority to cancel the listing and hung up.  After this, I continued to receive calls from the same number for about an hour after I hung up.  In one message, the rep said "yo, listen to me.  Are you there?"  The english was broken and very poorly in sentence structure.  Definitely a scam to me.

I've received 3 calls from this number. First 2 were hang ups. Last one (this morning) was a woman who said she was calling from the yellow pages per my request. I stopped her and asked "I requested info from yellow pages?", she then hung up on me.

People are also calling from this number and saying that they are calling to inform you that you are getting a new Medicare card. They are foreign with a heavy accent. They are RUDE and very demanding. They want you to give them your bank routing and account number.  They are telling you that if you do NOT give it to them, that you will not receive your Social Security check next month. They call from sun up to sun down. They are very aggressive.  Do NOT give them any information. Do not verify your name, phone number.  Give them nothing.
