I've been recieving alot of calls from this same number to my cell phone number. The number doesn't ring back to anyone and no one answer the call when you call back.

Unwanted caller ... lower interest rate ...

I just received a call from this number. Having recognized the number from numerous other calls as never having someone on the other end I curtly stated the name of our business. I was very surprised when a man said Hello? He-"May I speak to the owner Mr Joe Smith?" I stated that "Mr Smith" was not available. He then asked to speak to a Co-Owner, Office Manager, Administrator or someone else in charge. I stated that I was the Office Manager. He said his name was Vincent and that he was calling regarding the Yellow Pages Account. He said that he was calling to confirm the written request by "Mr Smith" to cancel the Yellow Pages account and that he had to verify the information on the account to cancel it. He asked me my name. I asked him to hold (without giving him my name) and I put him on hold to verify this with "Mr Smith". However, "Mr Smith" was on another phone call and so I got back on with Vincent and stated that I needed to receive a copy of the written request that "Mr Smith" had sent. He said that he could do that but first he needed to cancel the account. I told him I was not doing anything until I received the copy of the written request. So he said "So you are denying the request to cancel by Mr Smith?" I said I am not doing anything until I receive the copy of the written request. He said he was going to stop the recording and that he was going to mark the request as denied by me. He then hung up. When I called back the phone number it does nothing for 10 seconds (I counted) and then it beeps like it is busy. These people are scam artists and so irritating. They waste everyones time including more of mine as I write this to warn others.

Wow...what a [***]...they called me with the same b.s. I owe them 499.00....I told them to go screw himself.....hardly spoke any English at all. He told me because I was rude he would charge me 1500.00. I said knock yourself out. I have informed authorities of this scam. I have also isolated their location. Jerks!

SCAM!  Just got 3 calls in a row from this number.  On the last, I was able to pick up.  On the other end of the line was a man with a very strong Indian accent asking me if I accept the cancellation of our Yellow Local Directory account that my husband had authorized 3 weeks prior.  I said we have no Yellow Local Directory account and my husband would not have talked to any directory without telling me about it (I am the one that handles that in our company). He said you just need to right down this confirmation number for your husband and tell me you are authorized to accept the invoice that will be sent for 499.99.  (They already had my address and phone information - because it is business information). I said I still could not clearly understand him. He sent me to another party (an American sounding woman).  And she said ok, you agree with everything your representative told you? And you are authorized to take this invoice.  I said I couldn't understand "my" representative and had no idea what they were talking about. We have no Yellow Local Directory account she argued with me for a minute and very abruptly hung up in the middle of her sentence.  I tried to call her back but just got a "this is a number no longer in service" message.  
I also went to their web sit (yellowlocaldirectory.com) and the site did nothing but stall out.

I just received  a call from New York ( identifed via caller ID) form 347-418-0489.  The caller asked form "Blue Ridige Video." which is a side business which my husband has.Tthe caller then asked if this were "Blue rdige Video." However, we do not advertise.  I asked the caller how he got the number because we do not advertise.  My husband has another fulltime job. So I asked the caller from where did he get the name Blue Ridge Video because we do not advertise a second time-- and the caller hung up.  I performed a *57 trace on the call-- and I tried to recall the number following the trace to try to get some more information-- and there was no response-- not even a recording that the number was disconnected.  I may try again.  However, as fr as i am concerned, the caller was some kind of Gypsy scammer-- otherwise, would this number be listed with "Who Calls" and "Mr. Number?"

Knew the owners name and wanted to know where to send the 499$ bill we owed for yellow pages.com listing.  We dont advertise with any .com so I knew it was a scam

We are too! We are a business and get this number calling a few times a day. Then they hang up!

I had the same phone call about removing my company name from the Yellow pages.  I told him to just let it be released.  he told me I'd have to pay $499.00.  Very broken English.  Would not take NO for an answer.  After I told him to just do whatever he needs to do, and hang up, he proceeded to continue calling back 12 more times because I wouldn't answer.  I've filed a complaint with FTC through www.donotcall.gov.  I suggest we all do the same about this bothersome caller.

I just received the same garbage phone scam.  Indian guy wanting money to cancel our public yellow page ad.  I argued with him for a minute but then told him that I was going to report him to the state attorney general's office.  I did just that.  However, these calls are being initiated from foreign countries where our states have no jurisdiction.  Nothing they can do about it.

From now on, when he calls, I will ask him to "hold" for the owner and lay the phone down.  He can "hold" as long as he wants to..... Each and EVERY time he calls.

Just got a call from this 347-418-0489 and it is a scam.  Hang up as quick as you can, do not say yes to anything they try to scare you into.  They called said I had a credit of $599.99 and the YP account was being closed and they needed my address to send it back to.  So they then transferred me to the QC department.   And he had a different story...He said they were going to send out a invoice for the cancellation fee of $599... So being confused I asked who they really were and what my current balance was...They put me on hold/hung up....Then called back a little while later and tried to pull the same crap I told him that any cancelations were to be handled through my sales rep not through some caller from Moomby, India...These people are idiots!!  Do you really think people are going to give you their credit card number??

Wanted to confirm that I did not want an ad in the Yellow Pages. We do not have, nor never had an ad in the Yellow Pages. When I tried to engage them to find out what they were really after, who they were or what the phone call was all about they hung up.

These people call constantly. I filed a complaint directly with US yellowpages, they sort of responded. The calls stopped for a while but started yesterday. Same thing as above. The indian chick kept talking and I finaly cut in and said I know this call is recorded so let's be clear - I am not paying any invoice you send, we are not subscribed and never have been. She broke in again saying there would be no invoice, So I repeated exactly what I had already said and the [***] hung up on me.

Unfortunately if you are business the do not call registry does not apply. Using one of those devices to block calls won't work as they route their calls through numbers that aren't being used and change them daily.

Just hang up on them. File a complaint with the BBB for the US Yellowpages based out of CA. They have a ton of complaints. And keep hanging up. Don't give them any information on the  phone.

Same as above with the YP, $599 or else, can cancel with no cost if.....

I got the same call. They said they were from the cancellation department for a yellow page ad.
They asked if I wanted to cancel and if I do, I'm charged a cancellation fee. If I dont want to cancel, then I'll be billed for last year and this year.
I asked them to produce something showing that I signed for this. He said he couldnt because he was in quality control.
Eventually I told him I am not agreeing to anything and hung up.
That was a month ago.
Do not tell them yes and do not tell them no, either way they're trying to rope you in, the bet thing is to hang up. If you say yes you want to cancel, there is a fee, if you say you no you dont want to cancel, there is a fee.

I just got another call from him today and before he could finish his little speech, I hung up on him.

"RIck Williams"  calls (with a very heavy Indian accent) says needs to get a cancellation code and all I have to do is say "yes" to the questions as a formality to cancel an ad placed with "Public Yellow Pages".  The "cancellation" line then asks if I want to cancel, and then says there's a fee for cancelling". I say I don't have authority to authorize that and they hang up on me.  "Rick" calls back again and says he needs the code and is upset with me that I didn't go through with it.  I ask for a call back # so I can clarify this with my boss...he then refuses and continues to argue with me.  He then threatens that the charges will be $1000 if not cancelled by tomorrow. THe # on the caller id doesn't work when called back.

I received a call from this number with a sales associate saying she was from the Yellow Pages. She verified my address and said that my Yellow Pages account had been cancelled and that the cancellation needed to be confirmed with a cancellation number.. She then forwarded me to her account manager who tried to verify my name and address again and then collect a $509 cancellation fee. I immediately yelled in his face. They tried calling me back to do it again. They clearly have no shame, whoever they are.

I also have received several phone calls from this 347-418-0489 and when I answer there is a lady that only says "hellow" and later, just silent.

Got the call as well saying i owe $499.   They tried to tell me they have a written contract for yellow pages etc, and I scertainly did nothing of the sort.   I told them sue me and hung up.  I added their number to my blocked calls list.

Calls but no one says anything, or just asks if this is our company name and then nothing.
