- Jane| 2 repliesYou guys are hilarious. This is a legitimate Paypal number. It shows up on your card statement when you pay via Paypal to another person who's not listed as a merchant. For example, you ordered a shirt from a friend and the friend allows you to pay him via Paypal, instead of listing your friend's info, Paypal lists the Paypal number instead.
- Genuine Paypal Phone #, eBay address| 1 replyWe just had several smallish charges to our American Express card, all listing eBay's address and using Paypal's phone number. However, the charges were from names mspeachez47, ride907AK and RobFortson under the name "MARK PAYPAL". Clever.
These charges added up to around $3500. Luckily, Amex handled it before I even noticed.
Amex has a great service that allows you to be notified anytime a transaction occurs in the absence of the card. I'm using it now!
No transaction was over $200. Most were just under $100 -- $97, $98 and a couple $189. They're trying to fly under some limit.
We've purchased nothing from eBay or Paypal for many, many months. And then, we use MY AMEX account, not my husband's.
There have been no calls from the paypal phone number as others have received. Just charges to AMEX.
Good luck to anyone who is having this issue. And don't let the morons who claim that these are legit charges get you down. For all we know they are scammers trying to convince people to ignore our reports. - MichaelI'm here not because I received a call from this number, but the number was listed on a bogus charge against my checking account's debit card. In my case, PayPal is not involved at all, it's someone managing to spoof a point-of-sale charge from "PayPal *Livingston CA". I have never been to Livingston, CA, much less made a POS purchase there.
- chaseli had a charge on my credit card: PAYPAL *JOHN KAISER 402-935-7733 CA. for 71.00 anyone know who or what john kaiser is??
- SAll I have to say is wow some of the people on this site are just rude and not very smart apperhently...... yes it is paypals number and yes there are fake charges being made to people's credit cards. Me and my boyfriend just experienced this today and we dont use our credit card for paypal, just debit, but they do have the credit card info. Three charges of $51 showed up on our credit card listed PAYPAL *FACEBOOKINC 4029357733, with further investigation through our paypal history we saw that we have not bout anything on the dates listed..... once we called they continued to say that his mothers paypal is linked to his credit card and thats where the charges came from, however, this was not true as the same charges on the same dates showed up on her debit card statement....... whether this is a scam or not the point is it is happening and people who have paypal should look over there credit statements to stop this from happening, A call to the listed number and someone will help you get it sorted out though it does take a ot of time, also recommend you call your credit card provider.

- ChuckThis phone number is part of a FRAUD charge to one of our business cards. I checked our PP and have had NO transactions of any type for the past 6 months.
It is FRAUD .. I reported it to the bank, the credit card company and the Attorney General, Oregon state - vonnie1968 replies to NazarijThis is a test used by scam artists. They charge your account for 1.00 to see if the card will allow the transaction. Once they know it will....they have all of the info to make other transactions on the card.
- Robin| 1 replyPaypal called me at this number to verify that I had authorized the transactions on my account. Actually, it's nice to know they do that, since it was a fairly large amount of money and I would want to know if anything was happening without my knowledge.
- Caller: Paypal
- Call type: Event reminder
- Warning! replies to GRM| 3 repliesA fraudlent PayPal charge popped up on my husband's credit card for a significant amount of money. He's never used PayPal. It had this phone number on the charge but listed it from San Jose CA.
- JJI havent gotten a call from them but this phone number shows on my account as OAR FOUNDATION and they charged my account .05 cents.
- Fairshare2This company "Scottlittle" showing to be based out of Nebraska tried to run a payment through paypal for God knows how much. Fortunately, the transaction was declined. I usually swipe my card when i make purchases but I do remember the name of that 1 company that I read my card# to over the phone not too long ago. I am waiting on the bank to send me the "fraud" claim form to help in the investigation. Can anyone tell me where else I can report this for example, the FBI. Even though I'm not a victim in this whole thing but i could have been if I have left any money on this card. WE NEED TO STOP THESE CROOKS!

- william| 1 replyI just looked at my bank account, I was charged 219.95 for what I have no clue. The bank statement lists the paypal phone number, non-pin charge. Why would paypal allow non-pin charges anyway. Nice way to sidestep security. Fraud dept. of bank alerted, I am requesting police brutality when the perps are caught. Yeah, like that will ever happen right?
- Syd| 1 replyShowed up on my bank statement with a charge of $80. Haven't used PayPal for years so I reported this to PayPal and my bank. Just got a response today from PayPal: "Thank you for contacting us about unauthorized charges to your credit or debit card. We looked into this and confirmed that the charges were unauthorized." Expecting my money back soon.
- Fairshare2 replies to williamAs a matter of fact, it seems like Paypal don't even know what to do with this problem. I contacted them when I noticed the attempt that was made by these crooks to get $$ on my card. But then how does one get your money back if they succeeded with the transaction?
- Fairshare2 replies to SydKudos! They need to step up security to protect people from these crazy, unauthorized transactions otherwise, they will be going out of business.
- X replies to txuserWho ever they are they are making unauthorized withdrawals THAT'S ILLEGAL even if it is for only $1.00
- X replies to Bruce| 1 replySounds to me like PayPal's database was hacked and they aren't telling anyone
