How to do they even get our numbers?? I actually purshased something online yesterday, and its funny I'am getting these phone calls all of a sudden??? I guess Im not putting my telephone number after an online purchase. [***]!

Got a call today 2/21/08 at 7:30 p.m pacific standard from 402-952-4444 they said they were from wells fargo. and they wanted to take a survey. i just hung up on them. dont trust them!!!

i just got a call from them on my cell phone. i dont know how they got my cell phone number. anyway for me to block them? this is the second number i looked up and got this site on a 800 number!!

I called the number back and pressed #1 to leave a message, you have 60 sec. to leave a message. I simply said, please remove my number from your calling list, the # is ......, for last name ...... again, the # is...... for last name.... Thank you." That's all you gotta do! I too am on the do not call list but this does not stop non profit organizations from calling or apparantely opinionated polls so you have to call them to have your # removed.

You know when you see a number on TV, like an approval rating or the like?
That's a company like Gallup. As someone else said, they do hospital feedback and customer service surveys as well.

The National Do Not Call list provides exemptions to some types of telephone compaines: non-profit organizations, political phone calls, companies with which you have an existing business relationship, and yes, survey takers. Not only are pollsters exempt from the DNC law, they aren't even covered under telemarketing laws because they don't sell anything or ask you for money.

Because they are not telemarketers, survey taking companies are not required by federal law to remove you from their calling lists even if you ask. Gallup will, as a courtesy to the public. The only way to get them to stop calling is to answer the phone and ask polietly to be removed from the list. The people talking to you are on computerized telephones that don't connect them until there is sound on your end. Wait thirty seconds, ask nicely to be removed. You're done, and no one had to call anyone else a [***].

Now yes, telephone companies are restricted to calling between the hours of 9 AM and 9 PM by time zone, but if you have given out your cell phone number at any point, they call you based on the time zone in which you registered your cell phone. If your area code is in the central time zone and you travel overseas, they just might call you at 3 AM. A simple answer is to not give out your cell phone number until you've read your provacy rights.

They just call. Since I don't know who it is, I just ignore it. They do not leave a message. They have called me everyday.

this number 402-952444 have called me so many times this week.  He asked me about "Do I have any account at Region Bank and is it my own or someone ele???"  It's so weire ..

When I answered they said it was a poll for TCF Bank.

They are calling me on my CELL phone - every other day or so...

called my cell phone 2 this week and i have no idea who it is, i NEVER give my cell number out to any business axcept doctor's office.
i tried calling the number back and got a recording from "Galup poll"

I get a call at LEAST once a day from this number.  Now I have to make a long distance call from Florida to Nebraska to have them leave me alone?  What a crock!

We have had several calls from this number in the last couple of weeks and we know no one from this area code.  They have never left a message for call back so I can only assume it's from someone who should not be calling as we are on the No Call List.

If I didn't answer the first 5 times, then why would they keep calling? I'm on the do not call list too. Even that doesn't seem to work.

Caller wanted to know if he could use my info in his poll.  I said no and he hung up.  I am on both Colorado's no-call-list as well as the Federal's.

I received a call from the 402-952-4444 number last night.  They stated that they were a survey company.  They were asking about my recent experience at a local bank.  I never went to that branch due to it's location.  I called my bank's customer service line and they said that to IMMEDIATELY PUT ALL YOUR INFORMATION ON FRAUD ALERT!!!!  My bank NEVER authorizes surveys like that.

I received another call from the above number.  "Ray" was polite and hung up after I became irritated with his calling me.  After some research, I found out the number is an unlisted residential number in Omaha, NE (Douglas County).  It belongs to the Gallup Organization and on the Gallup Campus.  It is a land line number belonging to Teleport Communications Group.  I found two additional numbers for the "Campus", 1-800-288-8592 and 402-951-2003.  I'm on the National no-call list, but I believe these kind of calls are allowed.

Called, left no message.  I <heart> my answering machine.

This number just called me about 10 minutes ago and I missed the call. Out of curiosity, I googled the area code and I found this and I was definitely astounded to see it was this exact number that called! And here I am thinking someone mysterious called me. bummer.
