Received daily calls from this number..."I'm not a telemarketer"   with all the scams out there, who knows if it is legit?  MY advise is if you actually answer one of these calls, to just tell them immediately, "I am on the do not call list" and hang up. JUST SAY NO!  Why do people have a hard time hanging up on these idiots?  JUST DO IT!

This number is calling me all the time.. I am on the do not call list. It seems it does not matter if you are on the do not call list. I get several solisiting calls.

Yes, this number does belong to Gallup.  After 3 days in a row getting calls from Gallup, I requested they stop and they did!  This is what I did.

I never called Gallup on the phone.  I looked up (402) 952-4444 online and found it belongs to The Gallup Org.

1. Went to their Contact page on gallup.com > click here >> http://www.gallup.com/ContactUs/Default.aspx

2. Entered my name, email address, and phone number (all required if you want them to stop)

3. Entered this message >> I started receiving calls from (402) 952-4444 on my cell phone for a survey, no doubt.  After searching online, I have found this number belongs to the Gallup Organization in Omaha, NE.  I realize the Gallup Organization doesn't have to abide by the National Do Not Call Registry since they are a survey company, but I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry because I DO NOT WANT to receive unimportant phone calls like these.  How do I get you to STOP calling me? Please remove my number from your lists.

Two days later, I received this email from Gallup >> We coordinated with our long distance provider to have your phone number (my # removed for privacy) permanently "blocked" so it can never be dialed by anyone at Gallup again.

I have not had another call from Gallup.

I got calls from this number for like 2 weeks before I actually got one while I was there to answer it.  It was a survey about my most recent bank visit.  If you are going to get mad at anyone for this, it should be the bank or whatever that gave your name and number to the survey company.  That's how they got your cell numbers.  If you gave a cell number to the bank as a way to contact you, that's the number they are going to call.

That would probably work... if your No Call list protected you from anything other than Telemarketing calls. Market Research and Opinion Surveys do not fall into these categories.

Please people, read the contracts you sign and stop hiding behind your ignorance like a shield.

There’s a lot of misinformation on this page, so here is some factual information if you received a call from 402-952-4444:

“Who is calling?” The calls come from Gallup, the well-known survey and polling company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. They want to ask you questions as part of one of their surveys.

“Are they trying to sell me something?” Absolutely not. They just want to ask you questions for their survey.

“Can I get them to stop calling me?” Sure, it’s simple. Gallup really isn’t trying to annoy you, so just send a polite e-mail to them at galluphelp@gallup.com asking them to block your phone number. Be sure to include your phone number. They’ll block your number so it can’t be called by anyone at Gallup again. They’ll even send a polite response letting you know when the block is in place. The only down side is that, when you hear public opinion polls reported in the news, you’ll know that your opinion couldn’t be included - much like you can’t complain about who won an election if you chose not to vote. Still, the choice is up to you.

“What kind of questions do they ask?” While Gallup is most famous for political polls, they conduct surveys on lots of different subjects like current events, health issues, leisure activities, consumer habits, etc. You may be asked questions on a variety of subjects during your one call. They just want to be sure you were treated well the last time you visited the bank.

“How did they get my phone number?” It depends. In the above example of a customer satisfaction survey, the company with whom you did business provided your name and phone number. In the case of other surveys, your number may have been randomly generated by computer. This random selection process is important for many surveys, since the random nature of the sample group allows Gallup to generalize the results to the entire population.

“Why did they call my cell phone?” Since many Americans, especially young Americans, are dropping their land line phones in favor of cell phones (nearly 15% last I heard), it’s important that Gallup reach cell phone users to include the opinions of that demographic group in their surveys.

Another cell phone call... missed the call.  This is BS I never give out my cell number only to family and friends

We received this call about 4;15 p.m. on July 15. there was no response when answered. We are on do not call list. They need to be told not to make random calls just get peoples personal information.Please stop them from making random calls.

Daily calls from this #. All of our lines-phone cell & landline are on Do Not Call Registry. We'll be reporting them.

On caller ID 6 different times. Took above suggestion and called back, pressed 1 and left name and number and asked to be removed from calling list. We'll see if it works
