- Robert| 1 replyThis is the Gallup Polling Organization. It is *not* a collection agency. I am dumbfounded that people that don't pay their bills & uphold the contracts they signed have become so utterly paranoid they think every phone call is from a debt collector. If you are tired of calls from collectors there are several options: A: Pay the debt, B: Go into a debt program, C: File BK. I've had to do all three in my life. The key is that after you pay your debts you don't go back into debt. Pay cash. If a person insists on staying on a road of financial disaster then just turn off your phone, or when you see a weird number don't answer it and delete it. Technology has made it very easy for a consumer to ignore collection calls. The point is: If you are getting collection calls then you need to do something about them. If you have time to do research and leave comments on a website about mystery numbers then I would say you have time to go out and wait tables or sweep streets or clean a few toilets or mow some lawns or shovel some snow to make money to pay your bills... *all* of which I've done in my life when I was tired of debt. If you do that you won't have to falsely accuse a legitimate organization for "harrassment."
- Caller: Gallup
- Call type: Survey
- Ivor replies to smurfsIf they hang up when you ask "who's calling?" -- I'd wouldn't take any more calls from them. No legitimate polling firm refuses to identify themselves.
I block such calls using my computer and the free PHONE TRAY program. If you have a modem on your computer you can use PHONE TRAY to make a block list of phone numbers. The computer will hang up on numbers you put on the list.
Get Phone Tray for free at: http://www.phonetray.com/ptfree_download.htm
There's no cost to download or to use this program. It's great. I've had it about 3 years now. - IcantdoitI fix electronics and thejob peple just gave me the wrong job, i tried cleaning but they just fired me because "Its never good enough!!" Well, stupids, then put me in fixing electronics instead of mis-typematching me into a job I cannot do.
BTW, just use a PBX system you can get them
cheaper these days, an oldcomputer will work
with aphone board. Just drop the call into
the block list.- Caller: Fake Gallup

This evening I got a call from "Omaha" 402-952-4444 and, didn't answer. Perhaps if the caller ID had said "Gallup Poll" I would have answered.
On the other hand, phone hackers can put anything they wish in the caller ID code so I probably shouldn't answer.
One thing for sure, if the caller ID indicates, Omaha, Pennsylvania, Montreal, Utah or any other name or number I don't recognize, I won't pick it up. Nor do I expect the Government to do anything about it, since they have neither the will nor the talent to do so. - torobert replies to RobertThey are a collection agency..... Hope you enjoy your job as a table waiter or bottle washer.... I'm sure it pays all your bills. Is your penthouse in the basement or the top floor or are you one of the fortunate ones to work for a collection agency.
- Denise ThompsonThey are very rude. They hang up as soon as the answering machine pick up. If you hade the gutts to call, then have the balls to get hung up on say hello.
- Caller: The Gallup org
- DeannaHave been receiving calls from this number. Unknown caller.
- RossNow calling Skype numbers.
- anna| 1 replyI just got a call from this company. As I don't recognize anyone in that area code, I didn't bother to answer.
My number is on the do not call list. - toanna replies to annaThey are a collection agency using false covers as a polling or survey call. Do not answer the phone or call them back. If you do answer hang up right away. Do not carry on a conversation with them and especially do not identify yourself. For example: if they say 'Hello, is this Bob?' say 'Who are you?'.Then hang up after saying 'I do not provide identification to strangers on the phone. Once again the best is do not answer the phone. They are collectors looking for you or someone they think you know who they are looking for. Avoid conversation of any kind because as someone else earlier pointed out they use voice recognition software. They Are A Collection Agency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
