Interesting point is you don't have to be polite if they call you.  I usually answer unknown calls with "who the hell is calling me at this hour?"   If it would be a debt collector, I get an instant case of torrettes (sp). Can't do that if I call them though, then it becomes harrassment.  Just ask them what color underwear they have on, that usually does it.

Caller identifed himself as representing my  bank, which scared the heck out of me because about a year ago they called to let me know my account had been compromised (they took care of it!)....however this was a survey  concerning my last visit to the bank wanting to know "about the service you received."...I was cashing a check,,,they gave me money. What more did they want to know?  I said the service was fine and they said thanks and hung up.  I am going to ask the bank why they are wasting money on such a stupid survey.  If my service isn't good, I'll either report it or change banks.

I just got one of these on my cell phone, but I didn't answer it.  I know these freaks don't represent my bank because I bank at a very small local bank and if they want to talk with me they call me during the week.

The real Gallop is called Gallop Inc.....  not Gallop Poll Inc which shows up on the caller id.  Gallop Poll Inc is a collection agency.  Do not answer the phone or give them info if they are Gallop Poll Inc.

Once again.  The real Gallop is called Gallop Inc.   The collection agency is called Gallop Poll Inc or anything other than Gallop Inc.

Beware ! ! ! They Are Not Who They Claim To Be -This Is An Attempt To Verify Who You Are.
Legitimate Companies Will Properly Identify Themselves On The Caller ID.  The Only Way To Stop These Kinds Of Calls Is To Make Them Pay. Always Answer - They Have To Pay For Completed Call.  Keep Them Talking As Long As Possible With Fake Info So They Have To Pay More.

Got this one for the first time. I don't owe money, don't want to take a survey. Stop this number from calling people.

My husband and I got the call earlier and screened it out, so I looked it up here. Gallup is well-known and I have used their information as a student for research. So I have no problem with talking to them if they call back. If I feel anything they ask is personal I'll just refuse the question.

I don't understand why people are too lazy to look into the laws they want to claim protection by. Just because a law has a certain name doesn't mean it completely describes the meat of said law. The DNC registry only covers companies that are selling a good or a service. Non-profits, surveys and the like are exempt and have their own internal DNC lists as a courtesy but not because they are legally bound to do so.

I have never worked for Gallup, but I have worked as a research interviewer for a university. We did not have a list, but we did do random digit dialing, but because we only can call a certain number of phone numbers to keep the survey accurate, we had to call these randomly generated numbers more than once. I mention this to say that most telephone interviewers are not calling you multiple times so they can harass you, but it is an unfortunate part of their jobs. Just telling them to take you off of their Calling winced should be enough to get them to stop calling.

This is for sure a scam or con artist. Recieved a call from this number tonight claiming they were from my bank and needed to talk about my account. I asked them to verify their name and call back number and they quickly told me they would call me back later and hung up. I called the number back (thanks to caller id) the number 4029524444 and all of a sudden someone claiming they only spoke Spanish answered then transferred the phone to someone else who told me they had no idea how I got their number and that they lived in Mexico and that they had never called me. Do not fall for their bs

Getting calls from 402-952-4444 and they claim to be the bank calling about some unusual transactions.  When I called the number back it is the Dallas Gallop Poll in Omaha, Nebraska.

You people kill me with your conspiracy theories. In reality you banks yes your banks pay a good amount of money to have Gallup call you. They provide us with your name phone number and the branch you visited. They use the information to provide feedback to your favorite teller as the better the scorethe more that teller receives in the way of bonus etc. On the other hand negative or poor scores will put your favorite teller out of a job and perhaps working at your local fast food restaurant. So the choice is yours to do or not do the survey. A few of the banks Gallup does buisness with are...Wellsfargo, SUNTRUST,Bank of America,Citi bank just to name a few and they all pay millions of dollars to have us call you. HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I just don't answer cause most of the time those "do not call" registry sites do not work, and they (telemarketers)  still call your phone.. again, just don't answer it; eventually, the calling will stop.
