I received call yesterday on my cell. Said from Gallup and I answered questions for poll on wine / spirits use.  I usually say I don't have time for these calls but this time answered.  You know those questions at the end about residence occupants and income always make me regret agreeing (maybe the person is casing me or something) so was glad to see someone here confirmed it was Gallup.  Thank you.

They represent the Gallup polling co. and call because Wells Fargo asked them to conduct customer service surveys. Unfortunately this skirts the no call rules and W.F. gladly gives them your home phone #. The telemarketers are rude , pushy and often misrepresent themselves as W.F. employees. They often call 4-5 times and hang up if you ask not to be called. I closed my account w/ W.F. after 27 years as a result of this breach of trust.

Called me just now.  Said it was a poll for Gallup and that it would only take a couple minutes.  I was reluctant but figured it was no big deal.  First question was amount of school completed, so I answered that.  Then the person said they had a "very interesting" online survey about my educational experiences and so needed my email address to send it to me.  That's when I got off the line, no interest in giving my email address for eventual marketing purposes.

Gallup Poll for PNC Bank. Said it was a customer satisfaction survey. I told them I'd be a lot more satisfied if they'd stop calling me. They called over several weeks during the day but this time it was 7:40 pm.

With all the trouble and fear that people are presently having with regard to mass debit/credit card fraud (e.g. Target theft, and a host of many others) and trying to sort those matters out with their banks via the phone, specifically Well Fargo in my case and then expecting return phone calls from Wells Fargo regarding those important matters, it is a complete travesty that Well Fargo, or any other bank for that matter, would not curtail abusive marketing tactics for a while as a public service to their customers.  Underscore this point with the fact that an Gallup Poll employee would introduce herself on my simply answering the phone as "Hello, this is Lee Ann from Wells Fargo". An unbelievable breach of trust and security.  Not only does this constitute agredious fraud and misrepresentation, had I not been careful I could have given her sensitive information about the security matter for which I was expecting to resolve.  This is disgusting and grounds for someone in the Better Business Bureau or Federal Trade Commission (which will get this complaint next) to take some form of against this practice. The no-call list has so many loopholes that it is next to a waste of tax-payer dollars.  I am disgusted that Wells Fargo has the nerve to sell its customers personal information to Gallup Poll o others for any reason; marketing survey or otherwise.  I'll be reporting this on every other fraud abuse forum that I encounter, and then I will be severing my 25 year relationship with Wells Fargo as a result of their lack if integrity regarding my personal information.

    Disgusted,
    Ed

That's B.S. you uneducated fool! The whistle blast into your illiterate head until your ears begin to bleed is called "self defense" - that's our story and we're sticking with it.  This is almost as viable a claim as my criminal accusation on you for blatant  and hostile harassment. Yeah yeah, you're just some poor slob pawn who needs a job, we all get that, but you are not above the law either by your anonymity and by the feeling of control that you believe you have over your victims.  See you in court!

And, your weapon is retaliation, where you make your victim pay for their rudeness by calling them repeatedly throughout your miserable 8 hour day, and you probably work through your two 15-minutes breaks and 30 minute lunch to continue carrying out your punishment. That's call harassment, and it is against the law.  But, oh wait... You also have anonymity by your side, you know our phone numbers but we can't report you to your management because we can't call them, or know your name, or your employee ID. How convenient! And your response to us, is for us to pity you and be polite.  You pathetic misguided soul.

I too have a WF account & received calls from this number along with other annoying solicitation calls from WF to open other accounts, credit cards, etc. I originally sent an email requesting no solicitation calls; and they did stop. Then I start getting these survey calls. I sent another email requesting no survey calls and they've just told me my name's been removed & it may take up to 60 days for the calls to stop. I didn't realize you had to request both, but you do. You should not have to, but that seems to be the way of the world now-a-days. I've had accounts at other banks and had the same thing happen (i.e. Regions, Chase).
