I have received numerous calls per day, all different numbers, from these people.  I sent a letter to cease and desist calling me, especially at my work number.  Sent it certified and so far they have refused it (PO can't get proof of delivery and said after 7 days it would be sent back to me as refused).  If they don't sign for it, I will be contacting the attorney general's office as Oregon law is quite specific about not calling when sent such a letter.  We'll see what happens, but Portfolio is a pain, to be sure!

I am constantly getting these idiotic debt collectors calling for someone else.  They have to be calling anyone with live telephone service.  I got seven of these calls before eleven a.m..  I have reported this number to the FTC along with fifteen other collectors using hundreds of different spoofed numbers on the Caller ID.  It is past time a law with teeth was implemented that stopped these harassing calls.  It is beyond the point of ridiculous.  Ever wonder if Congressmen get these calls?  No way, guaranteed "no call" numbers.  When the next Congressional election comes along, write in Debt Collectors as your vote.

I am constantly getting these idiotic debt collectors calling for someone else.  I've even put on my answering machine that they are calling the wrong number and under the rules of the FDCPA they are to cease and desist.  I only get more calls.

Portfoolio, Portfoolio, wherefore art thou, Portfoolio!

They had not called in four days. I was alternately hurt, and worried they were ill. This was call #405 since their lawyer Pearson informed me in writing, four years and one month ago,  that they had "decided to cease" their collection efforts, on a bill that was apparently from 1997. Portfoolio Recovery, saith Pearson, had bought the thing in 2001. Without explaining the stupidity of the whole exercise, Sir Pearson stated that Portfoolio began collection efforts eight whole years later, in 2009.

So these bottom-feeding pond scum, these verminous sewer rats, had "bought" a written-off debt from some credit card company I am not familiar with, had multiplied the amount shown on the line of the printout by a factor of greater than two, and then lined their nest with it for eight years, before starting a barrage of daily phone calls designed to get us to contribute to their coffers?

They've got to be kidding. These are extortionists, and not terribly bright either...paying money for a line in a print-out listing written-off debts, totally unverifiable.  Portfoolio has  no legal way to compel anybody to pay them anything for the so-called "debt."  People, you do not *owe* these sleazy pathetic bottom-feeders one thin dime. Ignore them.

I have a land line with caller number ID. I turned the ringer off when I bought this phone. it shows the phone number calling.  I downloaded 800notes.com ( free).  I enter any phone number and it will show who is calling.
The are just scammers. Aka scum bags.

Each state has it's own Statute of Limitation on all contracts.  Thought that meant for collecting as well as reporting.  I'm from Texas and know that the time is 4 years for written, verbal, and all contracts.

They just called me asking to speak to DJ.  I said "who are you and what do you want?"  They responded by saying "please let me speak to DJ is he there?"  I said yes DJ is here and I am DJ, but I am not a man and quit calling here.  I said if you don't even know who you are speaking to, then you need to quit calling this number.

My wife and I are so tired of these calls. They call at all hours and every day, usually 3-5 times a day. How do you stop it? This should not be allowed! This has been going on for several years!
